Erased form history??

After the last update, Clear history erases all my saved Form History - when all I want it to do is erase BROWSING history. What a stupid change.

There is a temporary workaround. I don't know how long it will last:

(A) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. Please keep in mind that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(B) In the search box in the page, type or paste oldClear (all lower case is OK) and pause while the list is filtered

(C) Double-click the privacy.sanitize.useOldClearHistoryDialog preference to switch the value from false to true

Now the dialogs should have the categories separate again.

Yes, form info cannot be exempt from the the item "history" anymore and it annoys me a lot as well. I delete the browsing and download history manually now in order not lose the autofill info. Cumbersome procedure, and incomprehensible change.

"Incomprehensible change" - which could describe almost every "upgrade" that comes out of the mozilla bunker.  Who ever asked for this stuff??  Every update causes dozens of more websites to become unuseable - yet there's no way to report it.

You could try:

  • menu button > Report broken site
  • (menu bar) Help > Report Broken Site

TBH, I'm not sure where that info goes.

I don't have that option under Help.  I have Report Suspicious Site.

Worked for me.  Thanks.  That should be the default setting.
