The recent change to the previous sidebar for Favorites is awful!
1) It adds a vertical space on the left side for absolutely useless functions!
2) It incorporates totally useless tabs in this space that I have no need of whatsoever!
3) It occupies far more space on the left side of the page, resulting in something truly annoying: the websites one visits are no longer visible in their entirety because they have been shoved to the right by adding this extra space on the left.
4) Unlike the previous slim Favorites sidebar, this new one shuts off every time you leave Firefox. Very annoying!
5) Why can't Firefox leave well enough alone? One of the things I have always liked about Firefox is its simplicity and functionality. This change to the Favorites Sidebar is a major step backward!
A Frustrated, Long-Term Firefox user

I share your frustration, but much worse is the change to the History sidebar. Not only does in now need twise as many vertical pixels per entry, but on the one machine I have allowed to update on, it has deleted all entries over three months old. I've made sure auto updates are disables on all other machines I use and manage whilst I look for a new browser hich might be able to import them. A upgade should never delete user data anyway, but certainly not without requesting permission!
