Done with Firefox

Alright, I'm done with Firefox. I spent the last 20 years recommending it to everyone who was looking for alternatives to the bloated corpo browsers, but now Mozilla's incompetent leadership are forcing AI into the browser the same way the corpos are, and I cannot in good faith and good conscience recommend it anymore. It's not an alternative to Chrome and Edge, it's just as bad as they are.

Are they being paid to do this by AI companies? Are these people that easy to buy off? Or are they just gullible rubes falling for the next nothing-trend out of Silicon Valley, pit of shame and stagnation that it is, following in the same footsteps as cryptocurrency, NFTs, and the metaverse? Because this is going to flop and be rejected by wider society just like those were. And before some dumb grifter posts "it's here to stay, it's the future, get used to it, adapt or die" I'd like to remind you that the exact same things were said about crypto, NFTs, and the metaverse, all of which have become tech laughingstocks.

What's worse was that, in typical out-of-touch techbro fashion, the options to disable or remove any AI "features" were hidden away in about:config, a menu that the vast majority of Firefox users would not know exists if there weren't guides circulating on social media for how to disable the worthless slop machines that the gullible marks at Mozilla keep forcing into what used to be a good and useful browser. The people responsible for this were either too short-sighted an stupid to even consider that anyone would want to disable it, or they were being actively malicious about it and deliberately hid it away to make it more difficult, and either option paints a dire picture of Mozilla's current leadership.

I've come to the conclusion that the people in charge at Mozilla no longer care about what the average user wants. All they care about is the fat paycheque they're getting from AI companies to force this absolute trash into this browser. It reeks of deliberate sabotage after Google's anti-adblock campaign, that if Firefox couldn't be bought in the conventional way, then it could be torn down in another.

I've completely lost faith in Mozilla. A total purge of its leadership, a removal of all AI features, and apologies from everyone involved are the only thing that would bring me back to this browser. It makes me glad I never donated a single penny to Mozilla, too, knowing the money would eventually go toward cowardly little worms like the weirdos in charge now.

Glad you already said it, this was exactly what I came here to say. Another out-of-touch, idiot CEO about to tank a company because they've advanced en**bleep**tification so far that they are now completely deaf to their actual users.

I agree with everything the community is saying about this. Absolutely idiotic on behalf of mozillla.
