Change of behaviour when tapping address bar in Firefox Beta 144.0b1

Making moves

I am really annoyed by a "feature" which seems to have been included in the Android version of Firefox Beta 144.0b1. Tapping on the address bar previously showed my start screen and short cuts but now some useless previous search results appear which I did not ask for (because I did not search) and are of no particular use to me (rather than my short cuts of pages I regularly visit). Honestly, I am really pissed for hijacking my user experience. Tapping the address bar and calling certain sites is burnt so deep in my muscle memory that I was really annoyed when Firefox suddenly did not behave as I expected. I got so angry, I even installed the official Firefox release to check whether I am hallucinating, but no - Firefox really got **bleep**tified. I could not have imagined that such a tiny UX change would make me so angry. I neither could find an option to change this behaviour. I do not want it, I hate it and I am pretty furious.

Is this somehow related to Semantic History Search discussed here? If so, why don't you treat the address bar for what it is: an address bar? Why should it show previous search results if there have not been any inputs yet?

Also, talking of the start page, replacing the swipe with a link to get to further short cuts is a poor design decision and breaks learned UI behaviour for no good reason.

Last but not least: I remember that I once used a feedback option within Firefox Beta. I would have used it this time again but could not find anything in the menu. Is it gone or buried somewhere in the menu?
