The site explicitly dropped support for Firefox, blaming a chronic case of memory leaks (and implying other Zoom users - the "core media provider" they use - may be affected, which seems unlikely given Zoom hasn't said anything about this)
You can work around this with a user agent plugin, then it works most of the time, but sometimes it eats up gigabytes of RAM for no reason.
I'm guessing old video frames aren't being cleared out for some reason (IIRC the screen sharing element was just a video livestream). but then why would this not be an issue for Chrome derivatives?
Also sometimes it uses a canvas instead... no wonder they gave up debugging their setup (or zoom's, hard to tell at this point)

Can't work around this with an user agent plugin, Blackboard now uses agressive iframe-based fingerprinting specifically to detect this
Suspecting foul play...

@poliva : some sites just choose not to support Firefox, as the people who make them can't be bothered to put in extra-effort to test their site for it. So they just say "it's not compatible" to save work.
You could try this extension, and make Firefox lie when on that site, and pretend to be Chrome:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/chrome-mask/
But there's no guarantee that will work.
If you're a paying customer of that service, best thing you could do is contact them, perhaps by e-mail
or an online "contact us" page, and say you'd like them to support Firefox.
But there isn't much the Firefox team can do if websites choose not to support it.
