I recently had a look at the roadmap and there's some great stuff on there and some stuff that I wouldn't use but overall I'm happy. There's too many features right now, for me it's OK because I'm a long-term user, but for new users it would be like opening Photoshop for the first time.
My temporary fix, I would suggest to introduce a light version that can be changed to the original with a click of a button, but long term, ease of use Integration of AI, things where the program does what you wanted to do, without you even knowing that the features are available. And intuitive controls (whatever the f that means).
ps had to rewrite this after failing to log in

@Bugg : it's unlikely once they've added features, they'll suddenly remove them (though Pocket was a thing until fairly-recently, so it can sometimes happen)
But you'd be better-off doing one of two things:
• switch to the ESR version of Firefox, which won't get any new features for around a year from now, but still gets security updates. Download here: https://www.firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/
• look into "forks" of Firefox and see if any offer the lighter experience you seek. Just be sure to look into the "change log" or "release history" of each, as some are not updated very-often, so you may go without security fixes for longer.
Common forks include: Basilisk • Floorp • Librewolf • Pale Moon • Waterfox • Zen
