Creating my first account, right before going to bed, as I just saw the "Mozilla's next chapter" https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/leadership/mozillas-next-chapter-anthony-enzor-demeo-new-ceo/
Where there are wonderful contradictions such as "AI should always be a choice" followed 2 bullets later by "It [Firefox] will evolve into a modern AI browser"
Mozilla's constant disregard, misunderstanding, and at this point what feels like malicious disdain of it's user base.
I do not know what Mozilla is as a company anymore. It is not a bastion for open standards. It is not a defender of the internet. It is not a company that is developing a web browser that put's it's users needs first. And it has joined the ranks of the rest of the headless corporate machines that are blindly following obviously fundamentally impractical trends expecting magical money to rain down on them because the snake oil salesman said it would.
I have lost faith in Mozilla coming back from it's slow and painful slip into corporate greed.
"Mozilla is ready for this moment"
The moment has already passed and so many see AI for the scam it is, unfortunately not Mozilla.

Signed up to say basically the same thing. Screw this garbage. If I can't opt-out of AI crap completely, I'll find a different browser - and having to go into about:config to do so is not good enough. AI has already infested Firefox too much without a clear opt-out. This new direction is the wrong direction.

Same, literally no one wants this. They are going to lose so much money over this.
How do we contact the shareholders at the meeting boards? They are the only ones who can change what Mozilla does.

So far it has been an overwhelmingly negative reaction in Mozilla Connect, Firefox Support, Reddit, and social media. @mozilla: this might very well be your last chance to rectify the situation before people start abandoning ship.

I signed up to express similar sentiments. This is a wonderfully worded complaint, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm so disappointed in Mozilla's direction. Firefox used to be the one good browser--no more.

I've signed up to express my disappointment as well. I've spoken highly of Firefox for so long in the past while many other standards for other browsers went down the drain. It is beyond disappointing that Mozilla has decided they'd rather do the same than continue to stand for the users.

I've gotten half my family to put Firefox on their various machines. I never shut up about the customization, the many addons, the PRIVACY you get from not feeding various chromium browsers all your data. The idea that they want to throw that all away to focus on putting front-and-center a thought-stealing, pattern-recognition program pretending to have ideas... it's sad. If Firefox continues in this vein, it will die. It ignores the reasons why people use it.
