About Firefox 151.0.4 and beyond

Making moves

I've been using Firefox ever since I left Netscape. I do use other browsers as well, mostly Vivaldi and the "bad one" from the big G, mainly because I do some backend and frontend development work.

More and more, it feels like the software industry as a whole is tailoring updates toward the interests of third parties rather than actual users. In fact, those third-party features often seem to be the only things thoroughly developed, tested, and released. Meanwhile, the end-user is so neglected that updates can even break software settings that took days of work to configure. It really highlights the lack of care users receive from software companies these days.

But this is Mozilla. It is not just any company; it is the one that must survive for the sake of Free Software and Net Neutrality. Net neutrality isn't just in jeopardy, it feels entirely absent right now. Because of this, it is the worst possible time for Firefox to imitate or copy the trends of the proprietary software industry.

That being said, THANK YOU to the people at Mozilla. I have been here from the very beginning, loving your work, spreading the word, and I will stay here as long as you continue to protect us from the not so new tyrants.
