I recently started to use the convenient side panel for History and Bookmarks but noticed that Downloads are "missing" there.

I'd love to be able to press CTRL + "letter", drag and drop a downloaded file to a folder or an external app from the side panel and then re-use the same keyboard shortcut to close the side panel.

I believe it would be more ergonomic and productivity-focused feature for many users.

Want to display the contents of the download panel in Firefox sidebar.

It is distracting to have a panel appear for each download that takes a moment to complete. However, I want to know the status of time-consuming downloads.

There used to be a sidebar extension for downloads, but it went away for some reason. I'd rather like it if'n someone would make a replacement, or if Mozzilla would add that as a feature as it's little more than redirecting about:downloads to the sidebar.

I hope this gets picked up, with more focus being on vertical tabs lately. Also there is an extension for now, here but has its own limitations so native implementation will be best imho.
