An e-mail account is very critical from a security aspect. High protection required for account and data. An password protection when starting the app on android/ios would be required (like the Thunderbird application on the PC). Please extend the app with (optional) password protection.

Would be great if it was linked to biometrics.

Please do not enforce this as a default. It should be an opt in.

Access to an email account is a critical problem for identity theft, and once obtained losses may be substantial.  Other solutions such as device lock screen and disk encryption will help, but not if it is stolen whilst in use.  The chances of the device being stolen whilst the email app is in use are much smaller so this would be a significant additional protection.

As such, this should be implemented as a matter of course, and users encouraged to enable it.  It should not be dependent of votes.
