In my opinion, if you were able to put social networks in the sidebar as a work, you could get a lot of audiences, because in any case firefox is already very comfortable and with this implementation it would become truly perfect

if you set "full-screen-api.ignore-widgets"  to "true" the fullscreen will be contained inside a window (at least on linux) but you lose the ability to go into a "normal" fullscreen mode.

And access to the (Multi-Account) Containers like in Opera One!

Yes, Firefox needs a usable sidebar built-in.

Sidebar in the left corner with quick access to social networks.

I think Firefox needs to add a sidebar with quick access to social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Messenger, Whatsapp, etc), as well as the ability to add your own favorites.

In addition, the possibility of putting or removing the sidebar, as well as putting the history button, downloads, etc. in the sidebar.

I hope you like this idea.

This would be great, especially if we can add any site we want and have extra functionality like in Vivaldi or Opera

Initially, Opera didn’t have any sidebar when migrated to Chrome.
Now, they are way ahead of everyone.

I use both Firefox and Opera now, with Opera slowly taking over because of the convenience the social sidebar offers.

Please add this and make Firefox great again

The only reason keeping me from switching from Opera GX to Firefox is the sidebar, it's very useful, especially the music player. And what would be even better, is the ability to add whatever you want there, pretty much like in Edge

I keep trying to come back to Firefox from Opera and GX, but the sidebar and the workspaces keep me there.

I'd say the sidebar needs to be more customisable as in Vivaldi where you can add your own websites and their mobile versions. I had my calendar, Google Translate, notion and AI services in my sidebar and I really miss that functionality as the current Side View add-on only allows having one website at a time that you need to manually add each time you open Firefox.

I'd also like to have something similar to Web Panels in Vivaldi, that allow you to open (mobile versions of) websites - not only social media! - through a shortcut in a left/right panel.

Different buttons could be added to this sidebar to open Wikipedia, Facebook, a dictionary website, a weather forecasting website ... On this sidebar users would be able to add other buttons, providing an additional surface for extension buttons..

Websites in the sidebar should have Javascript and Tracking Protection support. So basically, we need a "mini browser" within a browser.

@Jonmaybe this idea can be renamed to "Sidebar with website panels"?
(not to be confused with "Side View" which already exists, but doesn't allow shortcuts).

considering to move from Mozzila to Edge now, their side bar is very usefull

notes (not crappy fox have it but bad design), calculator, task management

better group tab, and also can work with chrome extension too.

Hi,

So, i tried OperaGX, i hate it and moved back to Firefox, but i still loved the convenience of the sidebar.

You had ready access to music player (YT, Spotify and more)

You had access to the free chat GPT.

You had instant access to WhatsApp web without leaving current tab, and many more options.

Please consider implementing a sidebar of sorts, it doesn't have to be a sidebar, it can by quick access through button shortcuts.

Best regards

Nick
