i have switched from chrome since past 1 month and firefox is just better. the only thing i did not find easy is the option for having multiple profiles to be used at ease, could be better if there was one to easily access seperate profiles for work and home

The lack of profile switching is holding me back.  As soon as it is available I am off Chrome.

Google have too much of  of my personal data, I have weened myself of most of google services, but I still find I need profiles.

Note: Containers don't cut it.  They are too confusing, and I keep fining my self using the wrong tab.  Containers are not a workable solution.  I use 4 Chrome profiles, all the time

Please please please support profile switching

Chrome definitely makes it easier:

  • In Firefox, you need to open the internal/hidden page about:profiles while in Chrome there is a toolbar button.
  • In Firefox, you need to hand-craft a desktop shortcut for each profile (if you don't want to go through a screen each time) while Chrome creates the desktop shortcuts automatically.
  • In Firefox, you need to use the about:config screen (https://support.mozilla.org/kb/about-config-editor-firefox) to have each profile show up as a separate button group on the Windows Taskbar (taskbar.grouping.useprofile) while I assume Chrome does that automatically

It would be great if Firefox were to offer that level of simplicity.

Hi, on chrome you have the option to switch between two or more accounts with the account's respective history/bookmarks. That is a great and very convenient option to have. Let us say you have two accounts, where you switch between a work account and a private account. Believe me, no worker wants to show their coworker or students their bookmarks/history unintentionally, and that can simply be done by just going to the browser. Please add this option in the next update. Tnx.

Otherwise, I have to use chrome at work and firefox at home, which is quite inconvenient when I am so used to Firefox. Other than that keep the good work up. Been a huge fan all back to 2015 and probably even farther back with a couple of gaps.

Please look into this. There's a 3rd party solution but they require system access. Would make seperating work & personal browsing far easier.

Making moves

This is a really needed feature. I sometimes need to separate my history and bookmarks for personal things and other things. Or don't want to combine my accounts for same websites together.

So unfortunately, I end up using other browsers to separate them.

Make an option for multiple accounts. Many people (including me) want to separate their accounts - free time use and school/work. It's handy when you use multiple accounts (like google - for docs, classroom etc.) and don't want to always switch from one to another.

Firefox has this features. Instead of account, it called "profile". Just type about:profiles in your address bar to manage profile

@maxso216I know about that. I just wish there was a more simple way of switching. I used edge for some time and had two shortcuts on my taskbar - each one for one account/profile. When I launch Vivaldi a popup apears, where I select which account I want to use. It's just somethink I'd like to see from a browser not based on chromium.
