My sincere appreciation for the outstanding email management service you have provided over the years. I have been a loyal user of Thunderbird for quite some time now, and I must say, it has been a wonderful journey. I have no complaints whatsoever, and I am thoroughly satisfied with the service.

However, I would like to bring to your attention a feature that, in my opinion, would greatly enhance the user experience of Thunderbird. I have noticed that the ability to use "@" to mention or loop in specific individuals in emails is a common feature in most email clients today . This feature not only streamlines communication but also ensures that important parties are kept in the loop seamlessly.

To my surprise, Thunderbird currently lacks this functionality. Given the efficiency and user-friendly interface of Thunderbird, I believe that incorporating the "@" mention feature would be a valuable addition. It would not only align Thunderbird with industry standards but also make communication more effective for your users including me.

I kindly request your development team to consider implementing this "@" mention feature in a future update of EM Client. I believe that this enhancement would further elevate the user experience and make EM Client an even more indispensable tool for professionals and individuals alike.

I'd second that request. While I'm not exactly familiar with what functionality is connected to this feature in other clients, I think it's definitely worth considering. Within both companies and other larger groups of people still organizing things via mail, it can be very helpful to direct some questions directly to a specific person, and this way even if you have multiple persons with the same or similar name, they can (should be able to) just hover over the name (or it's just displayed as the mail adress, depending how the contact is saved in the contacts) and see who this is directed to.

Of course, if this is implemented, you can make the case for quite a bunch of additional comfort features like being able to filter for messages mentioning a contact or maybe some easy work flow to create tasks or calendar entries from a mentioning of you. And whatever other client developers have come up with already.

I would also like to see that feature in Thunderbird.
