When I first open Thunderbird, obviously connections are made to servers, credentials are passed and authenticated, any emails waiting for me are downloaded (or at least the headers are). The status of each transaction is displayed in the footer of the main Thunderbird dialog/app.
If I open an email while all of this is still happening, the status updates are then transferred to the footer of the dialog that I just opened, to view an email.
This can be perplexing, if the email I just opened has links in it. As I hover over a link to see it's full URL in the footer of the email dialog, I can't read it because the transaction status overwrites the URL appearing in the footer of the email dialog. I have to wait until all transactions are completed before I can "read" the URL of the link in question. I like to see what a URL is before I click any link. This is just a security thing, for me; but a very important one.
I submit that the transaction status and following updates to said status remain in the main Thunderbird dialog/app, allowing a user to hover over a link in an email to see the URL of the link in the footer of the opened email dialog, without any interruptions from transaction status updates.
This, to me, would be huge!
Thank you.
