as asked in FF support:

when you select text and right click to popup "search google for 'text marked'",  here google is your FF's default search engine, but for people in multi-lingual region would prefer to search e.g. in the language of the selected text, which makes more sense for the results.

I wonder if FF could add this function, i.e. auto detect the text's language and search in e.g. google.de, google.cn or google.fr?,  which is like the macOS/safari lookup, it detects the text language and point to that dictionary even recognized the grammatical conjugations?

FF could be a little more intelligent, right?

as from the same core of Mozilla, Thunderbird as mail app, could also implement this function, and in fact, it is even more useful and desired during writing email (also in other language then default English), using right click could detect the language and advise on correction. Currently you have to select the text and popup the context menu and select language, pointing to that language, yet it will add a extra language to default English for correction, which means dual languages and thus makes wrong guess. At the end you have to go the clicks again, and de-select English.

It would be great, while right-clicking the selected text, it will detect the language automatically, like macOS lookup function,

I just wrote an comment on Thunderbird needs this function as well, but the excessive logins mechanism made my writing lost 😞
