Add favicons to synchronisation

Synchronizing favicons is a good thing. Chromium-based browsers have supported favicon synchronization for a long time. This is a fairly simple thing, but its presence affects the overall impression of the synchronization as a whole. The fact that Firefox still cannot synchronize favicons gives the impression that synchronization in Firefox is not fully developed, or was written before 1999, when favicons did not yet exist.

Suggestion: Synchronisation of favicons is not strictly necessary, as Firefox could simply re-fetch missing favicons from there respective source.

[+] implemented re-fetch method for favicons could then be used to also fetch missing favicons or to update favicons from time to time.

[-] massive traffic creation to website servers
[-] tracking of firefox users would become easier

This thing that favicons are replaced with default ones just by clearing the cache or editing the bookmark/Home shortcut manually is annoying, it gives a bad look. What about a custom favicon scan interval or automatic check after a cache clearing or manual edit? The first idea can be useful for actions taken from both outside and inside the browser while the other 2 are good only for changes being made from inside Firefox. Clearly it's not a priority but it's certainly not good to see.

I support the wish to synchronize favicons and would very much welcome it if this feature were finally implemented. Many Chromium-based browsers support this, while Firefox users are left behind.

To restore my bookmark favicons I must use a Firefox extension such as Checkmarks . Would be great if I didn't have to do this.
