Thunderbird 125.0 Folder mode Unread messages issues

Upgraded to 125.0 recently from 115. In the prior version, the 2 chevrons < > allowed you to rotate through folder modes. They were not ideal since the chevrons' location at the top of the folder column would move latterly but they worked.  Now they are replaced by the three ...  -> Folder Mode -> uncheck / check folder mode. The problem is in 125 if you have unread folders enabled when all those unread emails become read the folders still show up in the Unread section. In 115 version, I would use the chevrons to change the folder mode to some other view briefly and then back again to unread email. That would reduce the clutter. Now in 125 I have to use the laborious method above using ...

Thunderbird just updated itself. I did not download anything

I use an application call PatchMyPC which checks for updates for various applications on my computer and applies any updates. Apparently on May 3rd it found that Thunderbird 125 was available via download-installer-origin.cdn.mozilla.net and updated 115 automatically to 125.

Thanks for that information.  PatchMyPC got it wrong, they should not be "updating" users to 125.0.  125.0 is not a production version of Thunderbird.   If you have the ability to tell them, it might be a great idea to do so.

The app when it ran as scheduled by me on 5/3/2024 11:00:28 AM found the following install file on one of your servers:

Download URL: http://download-installer-origin.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/thunderbird/releases/125.0/win64/en-US/Thunderb...

It ran the installer as it believed it was an update to Thunderbird. Is that not correct directory where updates are placed? Asking so that I can provide the developers of the software more information.

I restored my Thunderbird profile from before the update and installed 115.10.2. What the heck happened to the font style and sizes in the folder view and the actual email messages. It has changed for the worse.
