Thunderbird update control based on extension compatibility

There are a couple of Thunderbird extensions that I regard as essential, such as the brilliant ThreadVis, which, alas, isn't currently compatible with v140.6.0esr

I know that I can prevent Thunderbird updates from being automatically installed, but the process of checking whether extensions are compatible is laborious, if not impossible - the ThreadVis page currently advises that it is compatible with Thunderbird 146!  I would have expected it to be compatible with v140.6.0esr...

As a user, I need an option to alert me if an update is incompatible with any extensions, and advise which extensions those are, allowing me to cancel an update.
