I've been using Firefox with the Firefox Account for synchronization, so when i reinstall i cant come back to how i left it, but one things missing, and that's is the Cookie exception List (i delete all my cookies on exit, so i have a hand-made list of adresses where i want cookies to be preserved), this could be saved into the account, or a way to save all the configuration into the account, that way if i just need to reinstall NOT because of errors with Firefox, i can still have all my configuration (when signing in with an account to Firefox, it can prompt if do you want to load the last configuration).

I tried searching for this option if it already exists, but i don't seem to find it.

Currently, the list of exceptions for removing cookies and web site data when shutting down Firefox is not synced. I think it would be neat if it was synced.

NB. I do not want the synchronisation of cookies or web site data. I specifically mean the list of exceptions (the URLs and their statuses).

In version 126.01, managing cookie exception list does not work.  It will not save url site as ALLOW in the exception list.  After exiting and restarting Firefox, the exception list is always empty.

This exception list worked fine in prior versions prior to upgrading.

How do I fix this?

Syncing exceptions would be fantastic for those of us who regularly switch between desktop and laptop!

This would be a much welcome feature for people on cross-platform systems (linux / windows / ..) as well. Manually keeping up this list is not very user-friendly. It should definitely be part of the user settings that can be synced.

Sync Cookies and Site Data - Manage Exceptions

I would really like to sync the Manage Exceptions portion under the Browser Privacy-Cookies and Site Data headings. I have created an extensive list of sites I regularly visit and allow cookies to be stored, but I must manually keep list up to date between my different computers (Windows, Linux, Laptop).

I completely agree with this, having to add all site exceptions for every firefox installation (and after the latest update...) is a big hassle that seems unnecessary.

Also found a discussion here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1447103
It seems competitors (Brave at least) has this already.

Regularly switching between several computers is was created this idea for me!

most definitely.  When updating an OS or adding a new device, this is very important.

Please add cookie management to Sync.

How is this still not a thing in 2025...

Making moves

This is an absolutely critical feature that I am honestly shocked doesn't already work the way one would expect it to work, by using Firefox Sync to actually sync ALL settings.

I regularly use at least 4 different desktop computers each of which is at a minimum a dual boot machine with some combination of Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus an iPad and iPhone. Yesterday, I took delivery of a new laptop that has to be set up for both Windows and Linux Mint, and so I have at least 10 different installations of Firefox that need to be kept synced.

My discovery that this critical feature does not sync blew my mind and has made me very upset. I want only the critical websites in my life that I use everyday to have the cookies and site settings preserved, and the data for every other website I occasionally access deleted every time I close a browser.

Please give this your highest priority.

The exceptions list being synced is essential for a privacy-first browser. Who is going to manually add the exceptions over and over again on every new device? Exactly, almost nobody, it'll just end up unused instead which leaves people open to spying.
