In a message list, an email will show 3 chunks of text: sender, subject, and preview. The preview text should appear on its own separate line, for readability and glancability. Currently, it appears on the same line as the subject (I have it set to show sender above subject).
I will frequently get emails from the same sender and subject line, meaning the preview lines are the only way to differentiate the emails -- it is tricky to scan through the email list when the preview text potentially appears part way along a line and sometimes part way along the 4th+ line if it has a long subject.
It is easy to identify the preview text for an unread message (due to bold sender/subject), but this is not easy with "read" messages.
An example of dark mode with some messages read/unread is attached.
