When a user open a rss/atom link, Firefox show raw xml.
Since it is a common format (like images, audio or video files), it would be great to have a nice formatting without relying on third party tools or extension.
I think Mozilla added to Firefox an RSS feed and live bookmarks long ago but removed it and replaced it with Pocket. I prefer RSS over Pocket personally. I always disable Pocket.
For some obscure reason RSS support was removed a long time ago. We need more standard support. RSS is one of those standards like HTML and email, open for all to use unlike what every FANG is trying to do
@rv and @flaqueman supposedly the RSS support was removed based on telemetry data of thinking not enough people used it but problem with Mozilla relying on usage data alone is they only are getting a look at the kind of users who would even allow it so it is biased to a subtype of users. Considering there is a growing trend for revival of older internet practices and aesthetics I would think people would use RSS more if they were taught about it and it's benefits.
