This is a problem that has existed before this version. For me, it's not a big issue, but I've noticed that for other users, especially when installing Thunderbird on some of my clients instead of Outlook, they always raise this question during searches.

In the Quick Filter, it would be very important to have some indication that the search is in progress. When searching for something in a folder with a large volume of emails, sometimes we are left unsure if it has found something or if it is still searching.

Therefore, something as simple as a message or an icon right after the 'Filter messages by:' options would be sufficient.

I have a huge email history so searching takes a long time. It is bizarre that there is no way to know when the search has completed. Please, just add a little "SEARCHING' and "SEARCH COMPLETE" somewhere.

This was provided via Bug 1874419 - The quick filter should indicate in the thread pane that a search is still in progress... in version 129, thence to ESR 140 in July.

Making moves

This is a long-standing issue and not a major problem, but it can be confusing for many users. In large folders, it’s often unclear whether the Quick Filter is still searching or has finished. A simple loading indicator or message near the filter options would make the process clearer and improve usability.
