Status: New idea
  1. Please restore all the original right-click contextual menu and functions on macOS when you select a word or phrase, similar to the preserved right-click functionality in Safari, Opera, or other web browsers.
  2. Please do not remove them.
  3. You may add functionality to the right-click contextual menu as other apps do, but don’t remove existing items.


The original right-click context menu items includes:

  • Look up “the selected word.”
  • Translate “the selected word.”
  • Search with the default search engine
  • ----------
  • Copy
  • Copy link with Highlight
  • ----------
  • New Quick Note
  • ----------
  • Share ...
  • ----------
  • Show Writing Tools (with Apple Intelligence)
  • Summarize (with Apple Intelligence)
  • ----------
  • Speech > ...
  • Inspect Elements
  • ----------
  • Services > ...

Exactly!!

This was THE reason I've switched away from Firefox to Safari, as my primary browser, on my Mac a while back - even though I'd MUCH prefer Firefox.

I can't afford to be held up in my productivity though, due to missing "standard" items (for a Mac) that I do (and do need to) use on a regular basis.
