The option to view emails as individual messages or conversations in the Thunderbird email client should be displayed as chat bubbles within conversations. This would make it easier for users to avoid getting lost in conversations and the sending and receiving dates. It would be a great idea, as it would save time and prevent losses caused by not finding specific messages within a conversation that don't appear as chat bubbles. I bet it would be fantastic if an email client like Thunderbird incorporated this option.

I agree with the idea of a better way of showing the conversations in Thunderbird but I'm not sure about the bubble style... How would it look like for heavily formatted emails?

In this email client called Spike, look at how chat bubbles are displayed in conversations. I think it's great, and it would be great to have this in Thunderbird. I invite you to click on this link [https://www.spikenow.com/downloads/mac/] to see what I mean. I'm not talking about redesigning Thunderbird, but rather incorporating the conversation feature into the email client.

Chat bubbles would look odd for lengthy well formatted emails but a subtle change in background colour would help distinguish who sent what email. Not everything has to follow the horrible trend of making everything look like the same mobile app it is a corporate trend that needs to end.

I agree with @SugarPlacebo . I'm not a fan of this bubble chat design and I think they only work if you use emails like you use WhatsApp or Slack. Spikenow's design works because it's full of AI that extract the core content of the message and displays it in a bubble while removing all the formatting and useless content like signatures and stuff. Unless Thunderbird goes full AI (which I hope it doesn't), I don't think that would work... But again, I'm all up for a redesign of the conversation view.
