I want to make a mobile website, which can read data given from QR codes.

There is an API for this, but currently only webkit-based browsers support this API. So, I need to tell my customers that they need to use such a browser on their smartphones.

It would be great, if this API could also be implemented in Firefox Mobile

I am talking about this API:

I have wanted this feature for years and I don't understand why Mozilla hasn't implemented this yet, while they chase nebulous AI endeavors. This is functional, this will allow Firefox mobile to be a viable merchant tool. I made a barcode scanner app with this API to help me with order management for my business and it kills me that I have to switch to Chrome to use it.
