Preface   Firefox lacks in many aspects Chromium does very well regarding handling of Pen/Touch Input, Tablet PC UX. This needs to change for good. Over the past five years, annual sale of touchscreen laptops have risen from estimated 17% to 25%. Tablet PC form factor and touchscreen laptops are ever increasingly becoming more popular. Next MacBook is rumored to release with a touchscreen which could make the trend accelerate further. Firefox is not prepared. List of Issues I have Observed   - DND (Drag 'n Drop) Support Can't drag tabs, sidebar separator/divider line, downloaded items from download menu  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1692072 - Can't select text by dragging while holding down pen/stylus right click (barrel) button This is a platform behavior that's not supported by Firefox, but is supported by Chromium "Selection with pen. We also revised selection with pen by giving it more control over the selection process. Not only are we showing selection grippers whenever text is selected via pen, but also are allowing for a consistent and fast selection of content – text, objects, or ink—by dragging the pen while the barrel button is pressed." (https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2017/06/08/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-16215-pc-build-15222-mobile/) - Flick gestures can't be activated with Pen/Touch input History Back/Forward flick (swipe) gestures that are available to trackpads are not available for pen/stylus, touchscreen usage. - Pinch to zoom is not as polished as Chromium implements Pinch to zoom using touchscreen on Firefox feels as if your finger movements correspond to sliding vertical/horizontal scrollbars to move webpage instead of directly moving the content like a dragging motion (i.e. Direct Manipulation). The zoom gesture needs refinements to match Chromium implementation. I have observed that some software (e.g. Tablet Pro Zoom) which add system wide custom touchscreen gestures interfere with Firefox's zoom gesture so as to make it not function at all whilst the same doesn't happen on Chromium browser. - Some of the buttons in Screenshot UI are not clickable with Pen/Touch input   ... When a user copies an image to the clipboard and pastes it (Ctrl+V) into a web application, Firefox assigns a generic, hardcoded filename to the blob (usually "image.png" in English or "obraz.png" in localized versions). If the user tries to paste a second, different image from the clipboard into the same input field, Firefox assigns the exact same filename to the new image. Many modern AI platforms and web apps (like Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.) check for duplicate filenames to prevent accidental double-uploads. I would like to suggest implementing in TB the encryption of all emails, calendars, contacts, and other data at rest, so that the data is stored encrypted on the drive and decrypted on the fly only in RAM. Native support for the side panel feature. This feature is available in multiple browsers, including Firefox forks (Floorp, Zen), so Firefox is clearly capable of it. The user-made version is great but it has not been actively maintained for a while and leads to complex visual glitches in the latest Firefox version. Why current organization tools cannot replace its utitlity New sidebar: some panels that can be launched from the sidebar button strip behave similarly to the proposed side panel, but they are limited in options (settings, bookmarks, passwords, etc). Transforming them to a proper side panel would require more item selection, such as pinning more toolbar items (including extensions) and any websites. Such iteration also requires decoupling the current sidebar from vertical tabs so both features don't compete for space.  Split view: while both methods allow viewing multiple websites within a window, opening a website on a side panel allows you to jump between tabs while keeping the panel site open. ... I can see that changes are made in the search function nowadays, and I want to point out that the existing search bar works wonderfully well to some of us (at least for me !). A few days ago on nightly, the same search widget as in the address bar appeared in the search bar. I tried to use it but found it very cumbersome. Hopefully a config setting exists to get the previous behaviour back. But I fear this possibility gets removed some day. Even more : using the widget, middle click doesn't work (as in opening a new tab), it just overwrites the current tab. As an example, here's something I can't seem to be able to do with the widget : perform the same search on several engines in a comfortable way. Currently I just have to type in, then middle click on every search engine I want the search done, fast and easy. On the new system it's much more tedious, at least four clicks are needed for each engine : one to cancel current engine, two to change engine, and one to start searching, phew… And if you add the middle click problem it's even worse !   So please keep the current one as an option, it works well. ... So apparently the android version of FireFox gives you the option to change the logo to a variety of different options including the nicer, original logo on a white background. A: Can we get these options for the desktop version of FireFox. B: Can we get the nicer, original logo with a black, red or dark purple background like the more bland modern one has. ... View more

Firefox isn't with useful tool, which is tabs suspender, it saves of much hardware consume and doesn't allow your PC stay slowness and/or your own internet, because tabs can consume internet and recourses in background without you use it, so that's important and should be in all popular browsers including Firefox. I recommend they base on auto tab discard and possibly performance tool (by Microsoft Edge), because auto tab discard extension is really complete and very useful, mainly it saves where you stop on certain time video and performance tool saves much your recourses on your computer and is very efficient:   ... Hi, I'd like a right click on a tab group name to lock/unlock the group so i can't remove or add a tab from it by accident. Or basically the opposite of "right clic => dissociate", "right clic => keep associated untill i say otherwise". Or the same behaviour than when you slide a tab into a group, you see the color bar, you let it go and it's added. I don't want to remove it by sliding out for 1/100th of a second... By accident i mean Firefox behaviour is really really crap, many time i click on a tab inside a group (especially the rightest one) and notice later that the tab isn't in his group anymore...  ... When I am in the "All Address Books" View, there is no way to know, where the found contact is stored. The "All Address Books" is logically my primary go to, when I am searching for any contact information. So when I want to find out where a contact is stored I have to look in every single adress book to se where it is stored and where not. It would be nice if a field would show the adressbook the contact is stored in or if the search results would not only show the Name and email but also the adress book the contact is contained. I might want to reorganize the location where a specific contact is saved. The current state makes it merely impossible to do so. ... View more

Currently, the only way to remove or edit a bookmark on Firefox Android is to manually browse through the bookmarks menu. This is a very tedious process, especially for users who have a lot of bookmarks and folders. I recommend adding the 3 dots menu next to each bookmark when searching for bookmarks so users can edit or remove the bookmarks they search for.   ... View more

The recent list on most recently copied to or moved folder list is now sorted by most recent destination folder. That makes anything but the most recent couple of destination folders very difficult to find, and thus defeats the purpose of having a Recent option for moving or copying. Who can remember what the 7th last destination you had or the 11th last destination, etc. The most recent sorted order forces you to read the whole list every time. Improve Collections usability in Firefox Android (delete confirmation & reorder bookmarks) Description: When browsing Collections in Firefox Android, I often accidentally delete a link by swiping left. The gesture is sometimes misinterpreted by the phone instead of scrolling down, which leads to unwanted deletion. Additionally, there is currently no way to reorder bookmarks inside a Collection directly on the device. If a bookmark is deleted and then re-added, the new entry changes the order of the Collection, which is undesirable. Proposed solution: Add a confirmation dialog before deleting a bookmark from a Collection, or allow users to disable the left-swipe delete gesture entirely. Introduce the ability to manually reorder bookmarks within a Collection on the device. Benefit: These improvements would prevent accidental data loss and give users more control over how their Collections are organized.
