Suggestion: Create a official F-Droid repository for Firefox/Focus/other Mozilla Android applications Reasoning: Google Play can be slow with updates and not all users have access to Google Play as forks of Android don't have the Google Play Services, so having an official F-Droid repository would allow users with F-Droid or without Google Play to get the official Mozilla Android applications. Since Firefox update process is broken for Windows 10 - when not installed from Microsoft store (I don't know whether it is broken when installed from the store, because I haven't tested it, yet) - and results in Firefox being downgraded and upgraded a few times before the new version may run, it is annoying that after each update I'm ending with another profile being created for me - because it says that an old profile can't be used on a downgraded version (I already have 19 profiles on one of my machines and 3 on the other one). If the update process can't be fixed, it would be nice to at least be able to make a profile management more streamlined - for example, there might be a temporary profile created when upgrade/downgrade takes place and when everything is sorted out the user might be offered to return to the previous profile. I'm aware that similar idea was raised under https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/create-temporary-profile-for-background-updates-to-allow-more/idi-p/51074 but it is trying to address slightly different scenario, so it is possible that it needs a different solution ... When I use Google Calendar, I really like the feature that looks for the location you are writing in location field of a new event. It allows to insert the correct location just searching some keywords, like searching on maps website. It could be great have a similar behaviour on Thunderbird , using google api, or openmaps api, or everything else.   ... View more

It would be really useful if Firefox for iOS and Android supported the generation of Relay aliases. As it stands, a user has to open a separate tab, load the Relay website, login and then create an alias, copy it and then go back to where they needed it. It will soon be responsible for more emissions than the automobile, if it's not already. The rapid rise in the amount of data storage and transmission is a key driver of this increased environmental impact. There are 2 experimental web standards that have at least partial support from Chrome, Edge, and Opera browers. These are: 1. The CSS media query prefers-reduced-data  2. The HTML header less-data Both of these allow users to let websites know that they would like a lighter version of a page. It would be great if Firefox introduced support for these as a way to encourage adoption and use. Options like these not only have the potential benefit of reducing carbon emissions related to data storage and transmission, but they could also keep older, slower devices out of the e-waste stream. Every time I access a new website I have to go through modifying cookie settings. Generally I select change and make sure that necessary only is on and all the others are off. How about adding the capability to set this globally for all site so that once you have set it up on your browser it automatically sends the change request with user intevention. ... View more

Hi all, I am using *cloud add-on (https://gitlab.com/joendres/filelink-nextcloud#cloud-filelink-for-nextcloud-and-owncloud) to share large attachments on Nextcloud. Everything is fine, but I have one suggestion to improve. A frame is inserted into the composed email that contains information about the shared file. According to the creator of the add-on, this frame is maintained by Thunderbird and it is not possible to influence it from the add-on. The problem is in the language which the information about the shared file is published. If I write an email to a domestic recipient, everything is OK and the language is my native - the same in which Thunderbird is installed. But I also commonly correspond with people abroad in English and then it is necessary to have information about the shared file ideally in English. But Thunderbird always inserts it into the email in the native language and there is no way to change it anywhere. It would be good if this could be influenced somehow. In Thunderbird, when using the "Group By Sort" feature to organize emails by time periods such as Today, Yesterday, Last 14 Days, and Older,  these groups collapse upon restarting the application. I like to keep today and sometimes yesterday expanded. However i restart my pc numerous times during the day and when i restart Thunderbird the days I left expanded are collapsed once again. Hello, I would love to see a possibility to hide the FOLDER ICON from the BOOKMARKS. I have around 80 FOLDERS in 4 ROWS in my BOOKMARKS, and it takes a lot of space. If I have a possibility to remove the FOLDER ICON, that would be awesome. This way I could save a lot of space. I do no need FOLDER ICON because the name of the folder is enough to know that this is the folder. I used to use Avast Internet Security Suite, including their VPN. I left them recently, and chose to test the Mozilla VPN as a replacement. So far, not bad. But one thing the Avast mobile app featured that I think would be useful was that it could activate and de-activate itself, based on which network I was connected to. Thus, when on my home network, which I trust, my phone doesn't use the VPN (and therefore incur any delays in data transmission), and when I leave the house, it automatically activates so I'm safe on public networks, and mobile data. Both Yahoo and Google have announced, October 2023,  for commercial emails that these messages will need to support 'One-Click List-unsubscribe" headers in early 2024. Implementing support for this in the Thunderbird mail client would be a nice feature and in line with these larger requirements. More marketers are going to be working to adopt/support these headers over the next few months and many other mail clients already support this feature it would make a good follow through here as well. Action: Add a new button in message view to say "Unsubscribe" when the appropriate headers are available in the email.
