When you popup a tab with the donation suggestion, and the user is already typing an email that they're writing, or something else, it's likely to disrupt them and cause them to annoyedly close the window. You used to be able to "suggest" colors to use, but allow websites to override them. For example, I could have a bright green background set as a preference, but allow the website to override that preference. This allows a developer to determine if they have properly defined all their colors more easily.  I've attached an image of how it used to work: if the site defined colors, Firefox would use them, but if they did not, you would get the user preference (in the case, green and red for bg and fg colors). A wonderful feature in Firefox of some tab extensions like Sideberry is that it lets you set actions for mouse events like double-clicking, long press, to name 2 that are very useful and you could do it on right or left click. Hello, I'm currently using vertical tabs and tab groups features in firefox and am extremely in love with both of them so here are some suggestions to make these more powerful. These are what I assume simple to implement but have very high impact on UX. 1. Multiple tab select: While using tab groups, I often want to select multiple tabs and don't want to use the mouse to do so, for which this suggestion: Keyboard Shortcut to Select multiple, or all Tabs - Enhancement Suggestion would be extremely useful. My recommendation is to also implement Ctrl+shift+alt+home/end to select tabs to the beginning and tabs to the end. This will also allow selecting multiple tabs and close with ctrl+W very quickly. PS. also some missing keyboard shortcuts such as this Tab wrap - ctrl + home or ctrl + end would also be really useful. 2. Keyboard shortcut to group selected tabs: Finally add a keyboard shortcut to group the selected tabs. Currently I'm testing nightly vertical tabs on-hover and I find it clunky to group tabs properly so this not only gives users more options but makes unexpected ff UI behaviors manageable.  ... I use Firefox on both my PC and my mobile Android device. I primarily browse and search via my mobile device since it's convenient to search for something and start reading about it on the go; more often than not coming back to that browsing tab but on my PC - where my IDE is located. Gone are the days where I have to type the URL from the mobile into my PC browser - simply fetch them via the nifty menu where my mobile's browsing tabs are shown. This is awesome - if you're going to open one tab. Sometimes I have 6 or more tabs with content related to my search that I want to display on my PC browser. How? Well, you have to open a tab then go fetch the open tab I'm interested in. Open another tab and fetch the next open tab from my mobile. Open yet another tab and fetch the third open tab. And on we go. Not very efficient. It would be great if one could open multiple tabs by using a context-menu that allows you to quickly right-click and Open In New Tab for each entry we would like to restore. The vertical tab experience is pretty good atm, but one thing really annoys me is that it won't keep scroll position between mouseover when you enabled the feature "expand on mouseover"! it would just jump back to the top, and I've mis-clicked other tabs many times, pretty annoying! Hope it would just keep where it scrolls to when mouse leaves, and the I can just click the tab I want without wait it to expand and scroll back again. ... View more

It looks to me like the date sorting in Thunderbird is being sorted as a text string. This is total lame. ALL dates should be converted to a sortable date type in the following format no matter how they are displayed to the user in the UI: YYYYMMDDHHMMSS 4 digit year forced 2 digit month and then the 2 digit day then the hour in the 24 hours format. Only when using this format can dates be reliably sorted ascending or descending order. ALL of the dates in the email objects, received, send or what ever should be stored in this format for sorting. What I have seen is not usable in its current form. If this is configurable in Thunderbird I have NOT found it. (but this format should NOT be configurable for the purpose of the sorting logic because anything else makes NO sense) ... View more
