Before the upgrade to SuperNova, when composing/editing a message, one could select disjoint strings (using <ctl>select) and have text formatting options (like text style) apply to each of the selected substrings in parallel. Now with SuperNova, when one selects disjoint strings, the text formatting option applies only to the first selected substring. This makes complex text formatting very tedious because one has to sequentially select the substrings and apply the formatting commands. hi, I know it sounds hopeless to even identify which "other window" one would get her/his tab moved to.... But it is actually a simple thing.... Plus you could make some restrictions like it wouldn't work when there are more than say, 6 windows 🙂 I have this all the time: I want to move my tab, but I can only copy and paste its URL... I love my PC Thunderbird. Filtering saves me so much time and when a new vendor reaches me, I just create a new rule. It is so simple and effective. But I have not seen the Thunderbird for Android. I have tried K-9 mail and a couple others, but no filtering option exists and spam does not allow you to unenroll, they just give your address to 10 more people and your life gets worse. So filtering allows you to redirect it out of your face. So email on my Android is still not useable because all the spam fills up my phone and chokes it. When will we be getting the Android version? Or is one out and I just don't know what it is called? ... View more

I love Thunderbird and it has replaced Outlook (classic) for me, but there's one feature I miss, AutoArchive. In Outlook (classic), emails older than x days can be automatically moved out of the server folders and into local folders, freeing up server storage space and negating the need to pay for additional cloud storage. Thunderbird has the ability to select a group of messages in any folder and right-click > Archive (move) them to the matching Local Folder: perfect! But manually selecting multiple messages older than x days in multiple IMAP folders and selecting "Archive" is a chore too far. Thunderbird should natively have the ability to (optionally) iterate across all IMAP folders and "Archive" any message older than x days, according to the Message Archives setting in Account Settings > Copies & Folders. The Disk Space setting in Account Settings could be an ideal place to add an "Archive messages more than x days old" option, since it already has a "Delete messages more than x days old" option. Note: I know about the AutoarchiveReloaded add-on, but for something as important as shifting emails around with the possible breakage that could occur, and the possibility of the add-on being discontinued, native support would be very much welcome. The current FFox.SYNC for Passwords, would greatly benefit from a completely user defined field, to be displayed when logging into a particular site. At present, differing sited either force their own ideas of what a login ID should be. Thus if you, the end user, were able to say something like  "_FirstNames_ gmail login"  or anything else, it would greatly help the end user, in determining exactly which login ID, to choose. This also becomes and issue when one has multiple login ID's for the SAME site, -or  the case where one, by accident or choice,  pre-created a pw, but then is forced by the login site use a differerent login ID.   TimeStamping the  userdefined field, and displaying it, would really help manage pw management. ... I'm a Mac user and sometimes my firefox browser keeps the pinned tabs when closed but others don't, so my suggest is to create a space in the account where you can just reach that option and select "open pinned tabs" or something like that. ... View more

[] BUT , that means choosing GoOnline; that then initiates downloading of messages.  That process takes a lot of bandwidth, & is not always desireable, especially if one wants to keep the downloading offline, cf. testing, or transitioning of  local folders, filters.... I migrated from Microsoft Outlook to Mozilla Thunderbird due to license issues. Generally, I find Thunderbird usable, but two things annoy me quite a lot. One thing is that I cannot convert a new message from plain text to HTML (or vice versa). I send 95% of my mails in plain text, so I definitely want plain text as the default format when I press Ctrl+N or click on a mailto: link. But in 5% of all cases, I want to include an embedded image in my message. So if I have created a new message using Ctrl+N and have spent effort typing recipient address(es) (and sometimes CC and/or BCC addresses) and subject and maybe even some introductory body text and realise that I need to include an image, it makes my sad that I need to discard all my changes and start all over again (possibly copying each text field to clipboard first). The same thing applies if I have followed a mailto: link that includes recipient address, subject, and body text. In Microsoft Outlook and most other mail apps (desktop or web-based) I have used, you can switch between plain text and HTML using a single toolbar (ribbon) button or menu item. TB is the best tool to access and manage multiple mail-accounts, and with TB91.0 came the ability to rearrange the order of accounts , BUT: only the order of folder in the main folder pane is affected. Plug-Ins like Identity Chooser make it really convenient to work with a handful of mail addresses. Still, if you use a bunch of identities (or just still have a load of legacy ones), it becomes confusing—or let's you scroll for ages. It has been several years (more like 10 years), while people have issues with multimedia playback and it's volume control on different platforms. (That problem does affect not only Linux users) If browser does not follow systems overall volume control or sound settings, for "whatever reason", this is NOT good behavior or programming. Multiple issues - or no sound at all ( autoplay enabled), or media playback reset to 100% volume in every tab/window refresh. Do you want to broke peoples speakers with 100% volume or just get onto nerves of users and neighbors or freak out cats' dogs by sudden loud volume??? Whatever OS users have, browser should follow systems VOLUME manager MASTER control. Whatever sound servers or volume control users do use, same applies -browser should be able to stay on user desired level. Currently - about:config parameters like: AudioIPC Server Loudness Normalization media.default_volume 0.5 media.cubeb.backend alsa have absolutely no effect whatever value they have. What is purpose of nonworking parameters in config??? So in brief, every other browser in world i have tried can manage simple audio playback. Right now, battery life seems to be lacking on my M2 MacBook Pro compared to Chromium based browsers. I can feel my laptop warming up quickly but I would like to daily drive FireFox knowing that it's battery consumption is as efficient or even better than those chromium browsers. I already tested this with vanilla Firefox with no add-ons, about config tweaks, and etc. I do not want to turn off hardware acceleration as the Chromium Browsers do not need to do that anyways and still get good performance. Sometimes, we save the updated password in Firefox before it has been updated successfully in the site. Now we have lost the original password and the new one is useless. I have been bitten with this and eventually rode me to switch to Bitwarden. Having that option plus passkeys support on Firefox means I can ditch Bitwarden completely. Currently, Firefox shows the history of when the password was changed. We don't even need to keep the password history indefinitely. Keeping it for 10–15 minutes would do the trick. ... View more

Prior to the latest update, the shortcut bar had a drop-down menu which allowed you to easily and conveniently dismiss or delete unwanted shortcuts. Whatever the reason for this removal was, I'd like to be able to get rid of shortcuts for sites I won't visit without having to go through the history menu.
