Within Tool Settings create an option to choose one of the current six subcategories to become the default view. Currently "General" is the only default view upon entering Tools,Settings. I started a new firefox profile and I had to reconfigure several sites to allow audio and video to autoplay. That kind of thing should be enabled by default for sites like youtube twitch pandora etc. Otherwise pages load but content won't start until you click play which is annoying. I have had to click on the padlock icon in the address bar, then click connection secure, more information, permissions, autoplay, allow audio and video for every site that has some kind of audio and video on it. ... Dear Thunderbird Developers, Since I started organizing my tasks via CalDAV in Thunderbird, I've been missing one feature in particular: "Subtasks." Thunderbird currently cannot display subtasks. Is there a specific reason why this now common feature is missing in Thunderbird? A subtask is normally displayed indented below the main task. When I create a subtask in the cloud (Nextcloud), it's currently displayed in Thunderbird as a regular task without any association, i.e., treated as a normal task. This is obviously inconvenient for task management, as it's not uncommon for a task to contain multiple subtasks. As a workaround, I'm currently writing the subtasks in the description text, but it would be much better if a subtask could simply be checked off after completion 👉 see example attached. Feature request: Local calendar and contact synchronization (similar to Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer) Hello Thunderbird Team, first of all thank you for the great work on Thunderbird. It has become a very powerful and modern mail client. However, there is one feature that is currently missing and that prevents some users from switching completely from Outlook to Thunderbird. Many users rely on synchronization tools such as the Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer. These tools allow synchronization between local calendars/contacts and multiple CalDAV/CardDAV servers (for example Google, Synology NAS, or other DAV servers). The important functionality is: Synchronization with existing local calendars and address books Two-way synchronization Synchronization with multiple servers simultaneously Local data acting as the primary source Servers acting as backup or mirror In Thunderbird, CalDAV and CardDAV are well supported, but they always create separate remote calendars and address books. There is currently no way to synchronize them with existing local calendars or contacts. Such a feature would make Thunderbird much more attractive for users who want to keep a local master copy while synchronizing with several servers for redundancy and backup. Firefox needs to save the old passwords so a user can lookup previously used passwords.  Now that many work/medical/financial websites require routine updates to passwords, I need to be able to see 3 or 4 versions back so I don't accidentally reuse one too soon.  I was trying to look up an old password and it would be really convenient if I could see previously used passwords once I was logged into my browser.  Maybe you protect that view with a application level password so a visiting user can't peek at them. ... I use a lot of pages as my homepage pages on firefox launch. However, whenever I open a new window, it reopens all those pages and adds a lot of unnecessary friction closing all but one to have a new window. It would be great to have a toggle option to separate new window startup pages to be able to choose what that shows (the same way what new tabs show is customizable) when firefox is already running instead of opening the homepage pages a second time.  Thanks for reading! ... Currently all startup pages launch as normal tabs, it would be very convinient and reduce a lot of friction if the tabs that will always be needed on launch and always remain open start pinned instead of having to manually pin them on every launch. The idea itself is simple enough (though uncertain about the implementation).  It is definitely a very minor nitpick (and I'm even wondering if it's only a "me" thing) : when pdfjs.forcePageColors is true, highlighter becomes limited to only yellow, even if custom highlighter colors have been setup. This should be possible to change, since the pencil tool in the PDF editor can still use color (and be used with transparency, making it functionnaly the same as the highlighter except for the fact it can't be commented on and can't be used directly on text. ... The WebDAV Push specification lets CalDAV (calendar) and CardDAV (address book) servers notify clients instantly about changes. Android application DAVx5 supports it, and there is a Nextcloud app DAV Push that adds support for that to Nextcloud calendars and address books. Calendar server RustiCal also supports DAV push. It would be nice if Thunderbird's calendar would also support this, so that new calendar entries made on my mobile phone instantly sync to the desktop. The whole thing uses UnifiedPush as base technology, and on the desktop there is KUnifiedPush that can be used by Thunderbird to get notified about those calendar updates. ... View more

There is an urgent need for an option in Firefox that allows quick access to the clipboard. This option exists in Windows but is not available in all systems such as Linux. With this option, Firefox would allow users to easily paste text and image content. The option should be easy to access, for example: via the browser address bar, or via the sidebar. And perhaps an emoji panel could be included for quick selection. When a user copies an image to the clipboard and pastes it (Ctrl+V) into a web application, Firefox assigns a generic, hardcoded filename to the blob (usually "image.png" in English or "obraz.png" in localized versions). If the user tries to paste a second, different image from the clipboard into the same input field, Firefox assigns the exact same filename to the new image. Many modern AI platforms and web apps (like Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.) check for duplicate filenames to prevent accidental double-uploads. I would like to suggest implementing in TB the encryption of all emails, calendars, contacts, and other data at rest, so that the data is stored encrypted on the drive and decrypted on the fly only in RAM.
