The Multi-Account Containers extension is a very useful addon as it prevents websites from accessing all your browsing data by limiting it inside containers. I love this so much as it enhances the privacy. For example, I keep all meta related websites like facebook, instagram in a seperate container. So the only data they can access is between their own websites and not the rest of my browsing habits. TLDR: Please bring this extension for Android!

Add official support to casting to an Android or Apple TV, right now you have to use sketchy extension, it's not a good user experience.

With version 98.0 the saving of .exe files won't ''ask me'' if i want to save the file like in previous versions.I read that the default saving attitude now is auto-saving. I have changed to ''always ask'' most of my content type like it was before, but the .exe type is missing. Please fix this on next version because a misclick - autosaving a .exe file can make things pretty bad. I have tried finding the ''Old Firefox'' folder in order to replace my old prefs.js but i guess newer versions have stopped using that folder.So please fix it.

Just like how we used to be able to select "compact." I understand that more and more people are using vertically oriented devices like phones and tablets, but there is still a huge market share of users on desktop devices, and with the market saturated by widescreen displays, taking up vertical space while having 4 inches of white space on the left and right side of practically every website makes no sense. I switch between Firefox and Opera because I really enjoy the sidebar that Opera has as it makes much more efficient use of screen real estate.

Firefox Fennec had a great tabbed interface on tablets. When Fenix came, we regressed to a stretched out phone UI. After years of stagnation, Android tablets are rising again, thanks to foldables and new initiatives from Google. Firefox is missing out by not including a tabbed interface for Android tablet users, particularly because FF has best in class syncing abilities. Android power users are enthusiastic recommenders of their favorite browsers, so it would be huge advantage over Chromium based competitors!

There should be a dark theme for mozilla.org and addons.mozilla.org. The latter is particularly important, since it is a protected page and addons like Dark Reader cannot touch it. If you're worried about wasting developer time on designing this from scratch, you could cheat by using the Dark Reader npm library. There is an option to export the autogenerated CSS as a string (exportGeneratedCSS). You could use this as a starting point and modify/correct any of the mistakes the Dark Reader algorithms made. Documentation: https://github.com/darkreader/darkreader#using-dark-reader-for-a-website Bonus points if you can make the light/dark themes switch based on prefers-color-scheme so it matches OS/browser theme settings.

Firefox managed to bring HDR to Macs in 100.0 version. Now it's time for Windows! It'd be awesome to watch and work on HDR images and videos using Firefox in 2022. Windows is the most popular OS, why not bring HDR here too? More monitors and devices running on Windows support HDR, so there is an increase in demand of HDR support in Firefox. The only option for Windows users is either to switch to another browser or to download and use a dedicated app from Microsoft Store.

It would be great to have better integration with the Gnome desktop. Email accounts, calendar and contacts added to Gnome should be automatically picked up by Thunderbird.

Give about:config to Firefox for Android and let us customize it the same way we can customize the desktop browser. That... high level of customization was the only reason I started using Firefox back in 2006 and why I still prefer Firefox for the desktop to any other browser. I stopped using FF for Android 2 years ago because many pages simply won't load and hang in the middle of loading whereas the same pages open just fine and fast using Opera for Android. Since I was unable to send you feedback about that, I stopped using it. But now with Mozilla Connect I can share my ideas and hopefully bring FF for Android to the same glory its desktop cousin already has. When I disabled IPv6 on the desktop Firefox last week, many of the pages suddenly started loading instantly bc my ISP, among many others in my country, still supports IPv4 only. So I'm 90% sure that if I can do the same with FF for Android, that will change its performance for the better. But it turned out that the mobile FF didn't have about:config.

Sometimes it is not so easy to identify spam in the inbox. The subject and the sender look OK and only when I click on the mail to open it, I can see the email adress to identify spam. It would be helpfull to see the full sender address when mouse over the sender in the inbox. Even better, when a spam button would be directly included with the mouse over bubble with the full email.

Ublock Origin is one of the most popular add ons, and I think it would be great to integrate it directly into Firefox and Firefox Mobile as a setting. Perhaps it could be part of the 'strict' setting of the tracking protection, or it could be a separate setting for blocking ads. Microsoft Edge has a built in optional ad blocker on mobile, and I think having this in Firefox on desktop and mobile would be a great benefit, rather than relying on users knowing about it and having them download it from the add on store.

It would be great to be able to match the built in PDF editing tools that Microsoft Edge has, specifically the highlighting and drawing tools. This is one of the reasons I can't use Firefox for working with PDFs.

The latest controversial proton redesign added new two lines tabs, however it haven't been put to great use. I think we can do better and at the same time bring back the compact mode by merging the search bar and the tab bar. While we put the url directly into the tabs, other icons could go in the tool bar, making a better use of the window surface. The url is a clickable text area and expands to show the full search bar when we start typing. ---------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 1 To elaborate a bit more on my original idea We could put the hamburger button on the left because it looks a bit weird next to the reduce button (at least on windows) The same way the download icon is hidden unless we're downloading we could hide the back and forward buttons unless there's something in the history The refresh and fav button could be on the tab (and visible only on hover maybe ?) The many icons that can appear on the left of the address bar could be fused all together in one single tabbed panel. The displayed icon would change based on priority : (btw the Extension label could be removed and only show the extension name) Which gives an even slicker look : ---------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 2 With larger active tab and refresh/fav icons. With many tabs it could look like this : I also added the sound indicator icon instead of the "Playing" text (this icon is already used on pinned tabs). And since the Lock icon is not always visible with my unique icon idea I talked earlier I though we could color code the domain, green = secured, red = not secured. 🤔
