Hi, oftentimes when I need to test iframes and I manually edit my elements in the Developer Tools and override one of the HTML elements with my iframe. I really like the design of Firefox, but I guess the application menu is in an ugly position because when you look, or you guess strange or ugly the menu side, instead in left side, in other words, we can't move application menu and should be possible, mainly Firefox could allow move it to take advantage of bookmark's space, which it could as well have a certain space by default to show correctly menu options or just reverse your position: It will be interesting as well to reverse your position, although as I say, I prefer to give a space between browser options (like menu, extensions, etc.) and tabs on tabs area, mainly the only disadvantage in Firefox design is tabs touching the left corner of window and I don't worry if tabs will touch the right corner:   ... Right now, if I try to import a calendar file (.ics) that does not follow the file format perfectly, it cannot be imported.  This is a problem when other calendar programs ARE able to import them.  To the end user, it looks like Thunderbird is failing at a basic task. The bug tracker has numerous issues that stem from this like 1868843 but since the problem was caused by Microsoft, once Microsoft fixed their bug, the issue was closed. But there's no reason why Thunderbird can't try to fix these simple formatting problems itself. Like the 7'th comment said "We should make it more accepting; if it hits EOF and our calendar structure is valid but we're missing ENDs for the still-open components, we should just assume they've ended and move on."   Other simple errors that thunderbird could handle are file lines that end with the wrong End-of-Line delimiter. (A problem that I ran into and made me look into all of this). On Win 11 (and probably Win 10) new message notifications in the Windows sidebar should be batched to reduce unwelcome distraction to the user. Currently, each mail triggers a notification which is OK if you receive one or two messages but if e.g. 20 messages are received one after another this creates many notifications one-after-another which is distracting and annoying. For me, this behaviour happens when the computer wakes up in the morning and starts picking up dozens of emails that have arrived overnight. Each email produces one notification message in the sidebar + the sound for new message. It is extremely annoying to the point of switching the notifications off. Instead I suggest that Thunderbird either: 1. Looks up the count of new messages in the email account; if more than one message is found then issue only one notification saying e.g. "You have 10 new messages from x, y, z" (or just "You have 10 new messages at joe@example.com") 2. If new message count lookup is not possible, then debounce the notifications. When new email is received wait e.g. 5-10 seconds before creating a notification in the sidebar. If during this waiting period there are no more new messages - issue a single notification; if more than one message is received you can wait some more or issue a combined / batched notification.     ... It would be very helpful if you make it possible that users can specify from when to when the mail retrieval should take place in the account settings. I use a private account and a work account. On the private account, with my private email address, I want the emails to be retrieved every 3 minutes around the clock. With the work account, I don't want any emails at night or at the weekend. Here I would like to be able to set the mail retrieval as this: Mail retrieval every 3 minutes, but only Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. See picture below. As you can see in the title bar, Windows chooses white text on my rusty-red accent color background. That's a decent choice and provides good legibility. But look at the bottom of the picture. Looks like Thunderbird chooses to use black text on my rusty-red accent color background. Rather difficult to read... Please add the option when looking at downloads either from the arrow on main page or the downloads page (right click option?) to "open when done"  This is a great feature that Chrome has for folks with either slow internet speeds, or downloading something very large.  Rather than waiting and continually checking to see if something has finished downloading, it'll automatically open when the download is done.  Thanks. ... Hello, I love the new vertical view and how better and more readable everything looks. I would like to suggest am optional way to move the 'mail body' (message pane) to the middle. The way it's now with the layout option: 3 views and 3 panes (message headers in the middle). Could we move those around on the vertical view and have the messages pane on the middle? Then, resizing everything would give us a fantastic readability on the e-mails themselves. For example, I wouldn't care to have the folders pane on the right (or vice-versa), list headers on the left and messages in the middle. Or even a 'pull down' horizontal folders menu to use just when needed (but that sound more complicated and not that nice, I know). Anyway, the messages pane in the middle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the hard work. Love Thunderbird since the beginning and intend to keep using and loving it. Cheers! ... View more

For text and graphics-heavy websites, the Find features finds a word, but I physically can't find it with my eyeballs, due to a webpage's small text size, complexity, and placement. Even using highlighting and next/previous, it's very difficult on some pages. It's like finding a hidden character in one of those find-the-character books. If there was a way to point out each result, maybe with a large arrow (or some better idea), it would help a lot. The browser can see the result, but I can't. ... View more

To work around an issue related to a combination of website JS library and a browser extension, I find myself launching a second Firefox with a different profile every day the past week. I've now determined that the option "Use the selected profile without asking at setup" in the "Firefox - Choose User Profile" (dialog shown when starting `firefox -ProfileManager`) should work differently. There is one profile that is my default. Whenever I normally start Firefox, I want that to be the one that is automatically selected. When I need another instance, I start Firefox with `firefox -ProfileManager --new-instance`, then select another profile. So, I select another profile (double click, or click and press the button). But "Use the selected profile without asking at setup" is still checked. So, next time I normally start Firefox, that other profile is used instead of my base profile. Instead, the checkbox should somehow be linked to one profile. The checkbox could stay in this dialog. But, it should uncheck when a different profile is selected.     I do not want that profile to be the one to start whenever I close all instances and start Firefox normally. ... View more

First of all, I'd like to congratulate the community on the 100th edition of Firefox.   The subject was selected as "other" because it is not a failure or problem, but a suggestion for improvement related to the information on the volume of cookies and website and cache data stored on disk.   It's been a while since I noticed this and now I present it in writing asking whether or not it is feasible to implement the suggestion below.   In Settings / Privacy and security / Cookies and website data, the amount of “bytes” stored taking up disk space appears.   According to the detailed description on the subject, available at the address   https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox   there is a screen copy illustrating the explanations, for example:   Cookies and website data Your stored cookies, website data and cache are currently taking up 468 MB of disk space. know more   That's the point: "Your cookies, website data and cache stored are currently taking up 468 MB of disk space"   However, this information freezes when reaching 1.0GB.   The exact question: could this information be shown beyond the conditioned threshold until the user decides to clear all data?   Without further ado, I thank you in advance for your attention and, as far as possible, I look forward to hearing from you.   Yours sincerely, Ricardo Pinto.
