I use Firefox a lot to read PDF documents. Firefox contrast control mode with custom settings helps to change my PDF view to pitch black with white texts, which is perfect for me when viewing PDFS, but it makes all websites I visit very difficult to navigate and use. Groups appear to be great however if you're working in several and opening and closing tabs at a decent rate many would be outside the group as you `ctrl+t` to open a new tab it is not inside the group.  Being able to open a new tab in the current group would seem to be core to moving fast while keeping things grouped. ... The new Tab Groups are incredible. One suggestion: please add a new input field below the name and the color on group creation and editing, for optional group description. When you hover the mouse above the group tab, you got a group name in the tooltip, just a copy of the group name already shown. If the new field is not empty, it can show the description instead. For example, I'd like to replace a tooltip "FF" for my "FF" tab group to be "Jasper Fforde biography", and I can't do it now. Thank you. ... View more

Currently when I send messages containing non-ASCII characters such as 中文 or emojis like 😡, even when the receiving server clearly supports 8BITMIME, the Thunderbird Android client downgrades them to quoted-printable encoding. This results in unnecessarily bloated message bodies, reduced readability in plain-text views, and a generally less efficient email experience. It would be a meaningful improvement if Thunderbird Android could make use of 8-bit content transfer encoding when: The SMTP server advertises 8BITMIME in the EHLO response The message contains UTF-8 characters No user or policy explicitly forces quoted-printable Adopting 8-bit encoding when it’s safe and supported would: Reduce message size (especially for languages like Chinese, Japanese, etc.) Improve clarity in plain-text views Align better with modern email standards and server capabilities Ideally, this behavior could be toggled in settings, e.g., via a “Prefer 8 bit encoding when supported” option under composition or account preferences. Hello all, I’m writing to request the addition of CSV password import functionality to Firefox for Android. Currently, this feature is only available on desktop. While I personally have access to a desktop, I know many people who rely entirely on mobile devices—not only because of cost or availability, but also because that's the environment they're familiar with and confident using. For these users, shifting to desktop workflows for tasks like importing passwords isn't just inconvenient; it's exclusionary. There's a growing gap between what mobile-first design promises and what mobile users are actually empowered to do. As more critical digital infrastructure (banking, healthcare, government services) requires secure login management, being unable to manage credentials fully on mobile becomes a barrier to access and digital autonomy. This is increasingly a class issue, where those without desktop access or literacy are quietly denied the full functionality of the web. I believe Firefox could lead by example here. Offering full password import/export capabilities on mobile would be a small technical change with a big impact on digital inclusion. Thanks for all your work—and for listening. So here is my issue right now: I have two computers right now with very different specs: one with lots of RAM and processing power that can deal with pretty much everything I can throw at it and an older entry budget laptop with only a Silver Pentium and 4 GB of RAM running on eMMC (where the eMMC is basically so slow that swapping memory is hardly an option). Now the latter one is a laptop that I saved from a certain death (found on top of a trash can on the street an early morning) and for the life of me I can't help myself and get attached to these old machines and like to squeeze every drop of performance from these. Enough with the digression: I find it hard to jungle with only one syncing account because of (and only because of) the add-ons. For instance my password manager add-on all by itself can take up to 300 MB. And another add-on takes up another 150 MB. So I uninstall those on the low spec laptop, but then if I don't log off out of syncing, these add-ons get uninstall on the big machine. I think it would be great to have at least two different "spec profiles" in one single syncing account, so that you don't have to either create another account altogether and have to manually sync everything else or have to think all the time about when to start syncing and when to stop syncing. What a headache! Or is there something I've been missing out on? TL;DR Two different computer spec profiles for each syncing account. Allows cooky deletion when Firefox is closed and prevents reopening deleted multiple tabs that were created on say AlieXpress when browsing products. If I press X (close) button and multiple tabs are opened, I have a warning. This is fine. But if there is only one tab, the window closes with no warning. The problem is I have sometime many windows of various programs opened, stacked on each other, and it happens that, when I want to close a windows other than Firefox, I click on the Firefox close X button and I have to relog in everything I was logged in. I'm using vertical tabs in the sidebar. I have about 200 tabs opened, so they don't fit in the screen height. When I'm near the top of the tab list and close a tab, the tabs below the closed tab move up and the tabs above don't move. This is the expected behavior for me. When I'm scrolled all the way to the bottom of the list and close a tab, the tabs below don't move, and the closed tab is replaced with the tab above. This keeps tripping me up, because I often try to quickly close a bunch of related tabs by clicking in the same place several times and instead close unrelated tabs above. Description: When using Firefox vertical tabs with the "expand on hover" feature enabled, selecting a lower tab while the sidebar is collapsed causes the tab list to scroll to the top — especially when pinned tabs are present and the total number of tabs exceeds the vertical screen height. This makes it harder to track which tab is active and breaks the user experience. Steps to Reproduce: Enable Vertical Tabs in Firefox. Enable Expand on Hover feature for the vertical tab sidebar. Pin a few tabs (e.g., 2–3). Open many tabs (more than what fits the vertical screen height). Collapse the sidebar (so only icons are shown). Click a tab located near the bottom of the list. Sidebar scrolls to the top automatically, instead of focusing the clicked tab. Expected Behavior: When a user clicks on a lower tab, the sidebar should auto-scroll or remain focused on that tab — without jumping to the top of the tab list. Actual Behavior: The sidebar scrolls all the way to the top after selecting a lower tab, hiding the selected tab from view. This behavior only occurs when pinned tabs are present and the sidebar is in collapsed mode with hover-expand active.
