Firefox supports WebAuthn, but as far as I could tell only with hardware tokens. I could not find a word about Firefoxs support of Passkeys (like Apple announced recently) anywhere Personally I don't know why passkeys werent adopted much sooner, it seems such a long hanging fruit to just store the key in the FF password manager. At present if I right-click a link and choose 'Open Link in New Private Window' all is well.  However that is the only choice if I wish to open a second one.  What I'd like is the addition of a function to 'Open Link in New Tab in Existing Private Window.' I'm using Pocket primarily to highlight important content from my daily browsing, with the goal of it eventually becoming a 'second brain' using generative AI technologies. On the desktop browser, it's very easy to highlight content, but on mobile, Pocket acts as a standalone app, and I have to share each page to the Pocket app to highlight it. Firefox Android uses the same button for Stop and Refresh depending on the status of the webpage if it is loading or not. The problem is, both Stop and Refresh are useful regardless of the status. If the webpage is already loaded, only Refresh button is available. Stop button should also be available to stop whatever actions the page is doing, for example, stop playing videos or stop refreshing scripts. The display full screen is a very useful option but with the new changes coming to Firefox:sidebars and vertical tabs, the feature needs to be revamped. I propose that the new full-screen display feature should also hide the sidebars. I would also like to propose for us to be able to customise what is hidden when we are using the full-screen display feature, by default it should hide everything, but we can customise it. Something similar to the customise toolbar option. Perhaps we can even expand the customise toolbar option so that we can customise what is hidden when using the full-screen display feature in a separate page or something. ... View more

Right now, if I try to import a calendar file (.ics) that does not follow the file format perfectly, it cannot be imported.  This is a problem when other calendar programs ARE able to import them.  To the end user, it looks like Thunderbird is failing at a basic task. The bug tracker has numerous issues that stem from this like 1868843 but since the problem was caused by Microsoft, once Microsoft fixed their bug, the issue was closed. But there's no reason why Thunderbird can't try to fix these simple formatting problems itself. Like the 7'th comment said "We should make it more accepting; if it hits EOF and our calendar structure is valid but we're missing ENDs for the still-open components, we should just assume they've ended and move on."   Other simple errors that thunderbird could handle are file lines that end with the wrong End-of-Line delimiter. (A problem that I ran into and made me look into all of this). Outlook handled this calendar file just fine.  In summary, the end user doesn't care if the file they import is valid or not, if it works with other programs, it's a bug in Thunderbird. ... Needed for FF. Cookies and Site Data: Simpler for exception list like Import & Export on URL exception Allow or Block list. I am so tired that our Cookies and Site Data are not stored on our Firefox Account. This is true, if you refresh own device from beginning, then we do loose our preconfigured exceptions list for allow and block will be gone. This is also same, if we reset our regular Firefox browser. This is so annoying, not to be able to just use after Firefox reset, or device reset it will automatically work as before, when you have preferred sites you want to be able to use. But then you manually have to add URL's back to the exception list, and here, if you have many preferred pages, it takes times to add them again on what to do for allow and blocking pages with. A less complex product will have less bugs. The core of Firefox should only be the needed functionality to browse the web. Additions that are built in like Pocket add additional code. Previously when I opened the dropdown menu in the firefox search box I was able to click an icon for one of the sites I had saved there (e.g. wikipedia) and go directly to that site. Now this functionality has been removed for some reason. Clicking the icons has no effect without characters (e.g. a space) in the box. While linking to these pages is not explicitly the purpose of the dropdown, it was a simple way to get to things I had already saved in one part of firefox without having to also bookmark them or make extra keystrokes. I noticed that vertical tabs is finally coming and am currently using Firefox Nightly. A big thank you first of all for making this happen as it was the biggest blocker to coming back to firefox. Hi there! Thanks for reading my idea. I am suggesting that the sidebar needs an improvement. The sidebar is not flexible. I mean the sidebar is large enough. The padding you added in icon button is too much. Reduce it to fit the whole browser inside the screen. And there also should be an option for zooming in the AI Chat Bot tab. The sidebar chat bot is taking up too much space on the screen. You should add a zoom level in the ai chatbot so user can adjust it to its needs. The AI ChatBot should take less screen space according to width. You should allow user to fully customize the ai bot with dragging. There is a limit to it. You should remove that limit. Summary: Add a zoom level control to AI Chat Bot on the sidebar. And decrease the padding added to sidebar buttons. ... View more
