In Outlook, you can set the client on one device to be the ONLY ONE that can physically delete messages on the server.  All others clients can be set to only delete messages locally.  Outlook users like me, mistakenly look at the server settings in Thunderbird and assume that it works the same way. IT DOES NOT.  When I see the option "Don't delete any messages", I assume that its only talking about DELETED messages.  IT IS NOT.  So when I deleted all the messages I'd read on my phone to save space, they ALL went "poof" on the server, and I lost many threads that I desperately needed on my computer at work. Why would you ever want to delete messages from the server that are still un-deleted in your inbox?  Are there people who really want all of their mail stored locally, scattered between all of their devices? Here's a better idea.  Do it like Outlook does, or at least give us the option to do it that way.  Give us  options that say: "Don't permanently delete any DELETED messages from the server". Any possibility to put a feature for when a certain source (rss,feed,atom) is scanned for a period of time and no post downloads enter a dormant list so we can check it is dead? I use a lot of email addresses for myself, to try to limit spam and separate personal contacts from commercial contacts. I have about 200 email aliases, all of which are forwarded to my main inbox.  It would be most useful if there was an option to, when I reply to a message, use the address to which the original message was sent as the from address in the reply. For example, if I receive a message from Home Depot to the address that I set up for them, e.g., HomeDepot@mydomain.com, and I reply to the message, the same address becomes the from address in my reply. ... Ever since FF/Mozilla/SeaMonkey did away HTML versions of bookmarks, I have always kept autoExportHTML set to true in my user.js file.  (Yeah Im showing my age).  I love using the HTML version of bookmarks, but it's so ... flat.  Id like be able reference a CSS file, local to the profile, and right now I have a script to edit the latest version of bookmarks.html to bypass the Content-Security-Policy meta tag and inject a <link href> to bookmarks.css.  Could an exception be made to allow a localized CSS file? Outlook has this feature for decades.  I figured by now Thunderbird would have the same. The idea/feature:  When you sort an email folder, by Date, by Correspondent, by Subject, etc., ascending or descending, in Outlook (and other email clients) all one must do to index down to the first character of the field, is to simply press that first character on the keyboard, and client moves down to the first occurrence of that character.  Very handy to jump down the column to a specific character.  Maybe there is some similar feature in Thunderbird, but I'm not aware of it. ... Hello, Firefox is my #1 go-to browser and I basically use nothing else. I do have a suggestion that I really wish you guys will add to the "Context Menue". I'm on the mac 8 hours a day and the less I have to move my hand and arm around the less fatiguing and less strain on my wrist reducing Carpal Tunnel. It is one thing that I find very annoying, and very unintuitive - the way Firefox is saving bookmarks without confirmation . The bookmark editor window , when enabled, should at least have an option to not save a bookmark without clicking the Safe (bookmark) button . The way it is now, I still can't remember what I need to do to not save a bookmark , which is a core functionality for me . sometimes you just want to have a clean simple toolbar with no icon standing out the standard ones so there's this nice feature called the overflow menu helping achieve that. but there is a problem the overflow menu won't resize to follow or fit a selected extension panel in case you hide them inside it. leading to a lose of information which you have to bring the said extension icon back to the toolbar to get and then re-hide the icon back in the overflow. a bothering process. please do something about it for us who like having a minimal toolbar with no extension icon. thanks. ... For some reason, a decision was made that, when mail goes into the junk folder, only its text will display.  The only options you get are "Learn More" and "Not Junk."  Whyso?  Sometimes I want to examine the content of what I have going into the junk folder.  That includes any images.  I want neither to learn more, nor to reclassify the mail.  I should be able to A) tell Thunderbird to routinely show me the full content of everything getting swept into the junk folder, or B) on a per email basis, tell Thunderbird to show me the full content of a particular junked message, without having to make any other adjustment to anything in the program. ... Hi, I have a logitech gaming mouse and the tabs keeps scrolling leterally because of wheelmouse side mouvement. I like to be able to disable tabs scrolling in the parameters. This is a feature that outlook has. I have to send a calendar report to my boss every month. In outlook, it is possible to send the calendar in the form of html and ics from a specific period. But Nova also introduces way more rounded interface elements (address bar, input fields, tabs, shortcuts ...). Some users simply hate rounded elements, especially rounded tabs. Others love them. Nova is launched, but people 😮 keep nagging 😩about the rounded tabs and buttons while it actually is a really nice UX redesign? Nova is launched, people love it 🧡 and other users tell each other ➡️ "hey, if you don't like rounded tabs, just change is one setting that was introduced with Nova!".
