Hi, I think more and more people got used to at least the basic use of markdown. I think for the workflow markdown can be more convenient and less disruptive then the normal rich text editor.  I know there is a extension for that but is has limited features i.e. you have to convert your formatting manually by clicking a button. Markdown is always universal, so there's no need to look for the right option/button/shortcut and it has a lot of "extensions" like mermaid which are really really helpfull. Maybe some people would like to see a markdown support for their mail-client, at least I would love to as I'm using markdown frequently and love how convenient it is. ... View more

So this is at face value simple. Taking examples from other apps like Discord or Telegram desktop they can auto start (including in app setting), and can hide themselves on the applets/notifications bar, Which let them run unobtrusive and notify you if applicable. I have several computers, each with its own iteration of Thunderbird. Just like Chrome and Firefox do for settings and favorites, why can't the address book in Thunderbird be synced so no matter which copy of Thunderbird I open and use, I will have access to all address book entries I've made across all iterations? Hey Mozilla developers! I was thinking it would be great if it was possible to optionally disable URL validation during RSS feed subscription. My problem is that some of the RSS feed I would like to subscribe to are hidden behind a VPN. For instance, I would like to subscribe to the "failed builds" RSS feed of a certain project in Atlassian Bamboo, but this is only reachable inside of my company's VPN. Dear Mozilla Dev-Team, Firefox is the best browser for me, 100%. Also on iOS, mostly beacuse of its sync functions. So I don't want to use Safari. I am having a bit of a problem with over consumption of memes. Thus I would like to limit the use of meme sites on my phone. On iOS, the only option I know to do so is to use the app limiter in the iOS-settings app and set it to block a certain website online. But it does not work on Firefox yet. This is my use case: I’m regularly browsing lists of hyperlinks to follow list items’ content in new browser tabs. So, what I’m often doing is to middle click a hyperlink and immediately push the mouse away so I can continue my work using the keyboard without the mouse pointer being permanently in the way. I’m a quick worker, so this is what happens when I’m either missing to hit a hyperlink or when a web designer decided it would be cute to show a Hand pointer on an element that’s not being a hyperlink: I middle-click an element auto-scroll ist getting enabled I immediately release the middle mouse button this enables scroll-lock mode for auto-scroll I push the mouse away the list item disappears into oblivion See this screencast:   Desired situation I want to continue to use auto-scroll for intentionally scrolling through a web page. But I do not want scroll-lock to happen in any way, no matter how short I’m pressing the middle mouse button on a non-hyperlink element. The ability to edit PDF documents is a welcome development. The disappointing part is that when it comes to the signature you have to actually draw it, and it looks horrible. With Adobe, I use an image of my signature ( from a photo I took years ago) and this image of the signature is dragged to the appropriate place on the form and pasted into place. I tried this pasting procedure using the Firefox editor and it didn't work. Surely this is something that can be made possible in future? ... View more

Currently, Firefox prompts for masterpasswords verification only when using a recorded password for the first time. After verification, accessing other password records on other pages no longer requires verification.    Make Proton mail available on k9/thunderbird android. I know you can add proton mail to thunderbird desktop with their bridge but that isn't available on mobile. I think it's a great idea that the thunderbird team makes contact with the proton mail team to let proton mail be used in the coming thunderbird mobile app. I hope that the thunderbird team looks into this and succes with it so that people don't need to use k9/thunderbird and proton mail app anymore on mobile.   ... The following would be a simple but effective measure to reduce successful phishing attempts by 95% (I guess 😀) : Do not allow a link to be opened from an email whose sender address is not stored in the address book or in a whitelist maintained by the user. On Android, if you want to add a search engine that isn't preinstalled, you have to manually add it, which can be tedious and search suggestions don't work when they are added. To fix this, a user could tap and hold on a compatible search engine and tap something like "Add search engine".
