Mobile versions of Firefox have no fast gesture, command or button to close a tab. The user must first click the Tabs button and drag the tab away  Some websites (for example, real estate classifieds) open a new tab for every item clicked, which makes navigation cumbersome in Firefox for mobile. One simple idea that would make such navigation easier would be if, when a tab has nowhere to go back (no history), the back button would be replaced by a “close tab” button instead of being greyed out. This would make use of the muscle memory we already have for when we want to go back. I mean something similar to quick bookmarking available in Default Bookmark Folder extension but available for each folder in our bookmarks(as optional of course). That extensions is somewhat limited as it allows quick bookmarking for only one folder(& 2 if we count the change in default location). Please bring back the separators for the toolbar.  I still have five that I have kept with me through the years.  Lost one by dragging it down and it then went poof.  They are great for 'grouping'. Thanks, Mark ... View more

Right now the only way I see to show/hide the toolbars (tab bar, url bar, etc) in Full Screen on Firefox for Mac is to right click the toolbars and click a button in a context menu but I want to toggle this more quickly than that. The way Chrome does it is you toggle toolbars with cmd+shift+f. and toggle Full Screen with fn+f Firefox toggles Full Screen with cmd+shift+f which is an anti-idiomatic keybind for the Mac platform. I'm a big fan of using search engines but I want to use the @ and # symbols to find users and hashtags easily. Basically, when using a search engine, e.g. Twitter, when you use @ at the beginning of your search, you're opting to be directed or search for a user profile. The same goes for # where you're opting to be directed or search for a tag or hashtag. Facebook and Instagram are other examples that uses @ and #, and I would like Firefox to add these as optional reserved keywords for developers to use. Even if a website doesn't have users or hashtags, that's fine, its up to developers to decide how @ and # work for their engines, or choose not to use them at all. This idea Came to me when I was trying to turn off dark reader this morning, on Firefox android it takes 5 clicks to change it back and forth. On Samsung internet, which has its own built in dark mode function, takes only 2 clicks Now I only use this as an example, could be usefull for ad blockers or really any add on. Having it so they can have toggles in the add on drawer or even "higher up", existing in the drop down menu, could improve user experience as for stuff like dark reader or ublock, all I need to do is toggle it for night time or sites that don't like ad blockers Alternative could be having them when clicked instead of entering a "pseudo" window of their own, taking up the whole screen. instead go into a space roughly the same size as add-ons or menu tray. So one can still see the page their on, for dark reader and read aloud this would be quite usefull I think. Frequently when browsing the web, and increasingly with all the active content out there, websites will often load/reload more content without the browser considering it to be loading. Thus Firefox's smart button that alternates between reload and stop depending on context will often be displaying the "reload" option, when the "stop" is what I really want. Ideally, this would be a "stop all activity/connections" behavior that interrupts all loading and other activity. Ideally, this fixed-purpose stop button would be an optional one that people could choose to put into their toolbar, but not be forced to do so. The extension store does have an extension that adds a stand alone stop button... But I have to give that extension access to my tabs in order to work, and it states that it isn't monitored or verified by Mozilla, so "I should be sure that I trust it." I have no way of knowing if I should trust it. I don't know where the source code is, or even if I did, no way to know if the source code is actually what the extension is, and probably couldn't understand the code anyway. Likewise, I have no idea who the developer is. In short, there's no way for a regular user to know if they can trust it; and it's such a basic feature of a web browser that users should be able to have access to it without needing to install extensions anyway. There should be a way in Firefox for when making a bookmark to later not show it in the search/address bar suggestions. Currently, there is only a way to disable bookmarks entirely from being shown as suggestions. But I think it would be more helpful to leave the suggestions on while only hiding specific private bookmarks. ... View more

When bookmarking the page and copying the bookmark from the Library, we get a "nice" html link as text/html in the clipboard. When copying from the location bar, we only get the "ugly" url as text/plain. See example below. -> Pasting into Teams etc. yields a "nice" link if copied from bookmarks (rare) but a "ugly" one if copied from location bar (standard case). Linux, Firefox 102.0. Functionally, the same is true in Windows. Note that Edge copies "nice" links from the location bar. Minor gripe. Might need a better subject title. When a download(s) is paused, the downloads icon remains the same (progress indicator). Therefore you can't tell whether the download is stuck, progressing (taking ages) or paused: Maybe the indicator could flash, or show a II (paused) icon?         ... View more

Please remove the QR code scanner from the upper right corner of the URL bar. It is very easy to misclick because it is placed at the same location where the commonly used buttons are. The QR code scanner is in these 2 locations: 1. Right-most button 2. Second button to the right However, these 2 locations are also where the commonly used Tab and Menu buttons are. If you are used to clicking either buttons, chances are you have clicked the QR code scanner button by mistake. Reasons why we should remove the QR scanner button: 1. I rarely scan QR codes. Honestly, I think I've scanned QR codes once every quarter. That doesn't warrant it to be so accessible. 2. It is prone to misclick because it uses the same location as the Tab and Menu buttons 3. There are other apps that scan QR codes. There are dedicated QR code scanner apps or it is included in the phone's camera app. It doesn't have to be done in Firefox.           In private mode you have a option in the menu to open the current tab in normal mode so that you don't need to copy the link anymore to get your tab in normal mode. But when you have enabled menu redesign and navigation toolbar in secret settings you don't have that option anymore in the menu. So please add this to the menu redesign to let users use this feature like they did in the normal menu.                      ... View more

Currently the Bookmarks Toolbar option to "Only show on New Tab" is, depending on how you look at it, either not as useful as it could be or misleading. It would be ideal to extend the option to encompass all new tabs, not just Firefox Home. I prefer new tabs to be a blank page, but I would like the Bookmarks Toolbar to appear and then disappear as this setting would seem to enable. Failing that, it would be much less confusing to label the option "Only show on Firefox Home." Collections should have a grid option - like groups on chrome. Or them showing on the homepage can be optional It'd be nice to have groups(like chrome tabs in tab) in a "pocket" icon in a corner that we don't want active right now(sorta like one tab, put a pocket space of grid tabs and tab groups), and tab groups/pages in grids like chrome in the main page when we open the app which is active webpages. Many people use various tab suspend (or tab discard) addons to minimize Firefox memory usage. These addons use tabs.discard() API in order to unload tabs after set period of inactivity. Since version 123.0 Firefox allows to show tab previews on hover when `browser.tabs.cardPreview.enabled` flag is enabled. However, thumbnails often are not shown for tabs which were previously discarded by 3rd party addons. Would be great if Firefox implemented some mechanism under the hood, which will automatically cache last "active" view of the tab whenever it is requested to be suspended by `tabs.discard()` API, and then show the cached thumbnail on hover.
