The Problem when using tags like folders: If you rename a Folder (the wrong way), the email within ist STILL there. - The mail does not get "lost" in the mass. But when using tags like folders -  after a simple (unwanted) change to the tag list - some tagged emails will NOT be listed anymore. - Actually there is no way to list or find all these email, which you tagged before. Solution to find ALL tagged emails - and to get a completely reliable situation with masses of tagged emails: We need a menu-point to scan and list tags from the email-side alone (tags which are actually not in the tag list) Some details: To really use tags as a replacement like folders, - it is important to see (to get feedback), - if ANY TAGGGED email doesnt match to the ACTUAL visible tag-entrys (- the list from tag-menu). - "Show others" in a menu would give feedback, if all tagged email is adressed reliable with the actual tag-list. In everyday-usage a simple renaming of a tag, or deleting and adding of a tag ... - could result to overseen problems (tag-keyword (in prefs.js) will be different, while the visible tag-name in menu is OK). -> A simple "show others" in a menu (within the tags-menu) can give the right feedback to the user - to solve all possible mistakes with tags (renaming a tag or its keword (prefs.js ...)). - So one can say "use your tags as folders !". Hi, In ThunderBird 115, as in ThunderBird 112, I have emails from eight accounts sorted and redistributed into five inboxes. When I receive messages with the "Get Messages" button, an account type is (presumably) never read (always the same provider). I have to go to the sub-choices menu at the top left and select only one account at a time. The problem that we thought solved in Firefox 115, is still there !!! Could "Get Messages" button be changed to have sub-choices, or could we have a new "Get Messages" button with sub choice ??? Thanks ... View more

There is a simple feature i miss in my daily work. Could you add a "copy and paste" function for mail attachments. For example: i mark several files inside the explorer and copy them (strg+c), now i want to add them to a mail by pasting them (strg+v) into the mails body. This is a workflow occuring if you are writing your mail and want to attach the files inbetween or after you finished writing the mail. By the way, i know that drag and drop is also possible. In my inbox I maintain some mails, starred and highlighted for attention at a later time. However if I delete a mail directly above a highlighted mail, then the latter is set back to normal mail, therefore I have to highlight the mail again. We already have the space bar that lets us change between some tabs. I would like to see that usage expanded to all possible tabs (message in tabs, conversation view, global search results, add-ons manager, etc).   Add a little overlay after an update to introduce features that are not turned on by default and give the option to enable them.  Just so you can visualize what i mean by overlay:  So for example the recent introduction of card view. Its not changed for existing users (which is sensible). But i think major changes/features like that should be introduced. Right now, activities window is more like a leftover of the old firefox download window, a relic from the past. Let's change this for a more useful tab. I was thinking about a "sync status center" where you can check in a table the status of: column1: all mail accounts: one account per line column2: all other sync statuses (calendars/tasks/caldav, ical, contacts/carddav, IM, etc.) with on each, last successful sync date/time and sync status (failed:red/syncing:blue/OK:green), and maybe a button to force sync a specific account maybe something like this (crude edited screenshot): ...
