I've worked at a couple of different places where users were color blind to blue and another to red and having a quick and easy way to be able to change the color of unread mail would be greatly appreciated by those people who can't tell the difference between blue and black. Bold and not bold isn't as easy to spot when looking at an inbox full of emails, and requiring someone to create a userchrome file buried in the AppData folder is probably a little more than most users are willing to do... ... When moving the mouse over a message containing an hidden  link, the real web address is displayed on the bottom part of TB. which is helpfull to identify scam/phishing emails. But if thunderbird is in his downloading phase, the notifications (downloading message xx from yy server" is at the same place....hiding the other indication....so that you ar not warned anymore.... security and activities notifications should not be at the same place ... On Firefox mobile (Android), by at least version 99, the dark theme used a darker grey for the main body color and a lighter grey for the address bar. At some point, the colors were reversed, and the lighter grey was used for the main body color and a darker grey for the address bar. It remains this way to the most recent version (137). Please reverse the colors. Return the dark theme to using the darker grey as the main body color. If there is a legitimate reason for the color switch, then please add a third theme option of "Original Dark," or something similar. I still haven't upgraded my version past 99 because of this, and a few other of the new UI petty annoyances. In the message list view, change the colour of the date/time to be a different colour; perhaps blue (similar to Outlook or Edison) or customisable. This will make seeing unread emails at a glance easier. The current option to have a different colour background for a message in the list, especially in dark mode, looks clunky, dated, and (in my experience, most importantly) messes with my ability to smoothly read the list of mixed read/unread messages.   ... I'm personally a heavy tab user but have always wondered why there is almost no support for tab grouping or customization in the native tab bar in Firefox. I think making it able to group like Google Chrome does for example or at least giving more access for extensions and add-ons would significantly improve the UI in that regard. ... View more

In a message list, an email will show 3 chunks of text: sender, subject, and preview. The preview text should appear on its own separate line, for readability and glancability. Currently, it appears on the same line as the subject (I have it set to show sender above subject). I will frequently get emails from the same sender and subject line, meaning the preview lines are the only way to differentiate the emails -- it is tricky to scan through the email list when the preview text potentially appears part way along a line and sometimes part way along the 4th+ line if it has a long subject. It is easy to identify the preview text for an unread message (due to bold sender/subject), but this is not easy with "read" messages. When a message list is empty, it should show a text message and (ideally) an image to signify that the list is deliberately empty. It could initially be something as simple as the app logo in the centre of the list view with the text "No messages". Similar approach in Gmail is down in the attachment. ... View more

A great feature of Gmail is that for each email in the list of emails, it displays the list of gmail labels attached to that email.   I know that TB translates the gmail labels into folders, but with this additional facility, I'd be able to instantly see, as I can on the Gmail web site and in some other clients such as eM Client for Windows, all the Gmail labels associated with an email.   There is an add-on, Gmail Labels, but it doesn't work properly until you actually display one of the folders in which an email appears, and it is very slow.  I use eM Client a lot purely because of this feature and it would be a really excellent addition to Thunderbird.   Please do consider this suggestion.   Thank you,     Wilf ... Restore the "Forget About This Site" feature to the History Side Bar. Deleting multiple pages from history is tedious with the sidebar update. There are no options to delete all, select multiple, or delete by site. I'm a mostly uninformed user that's been using vertical tabs via. the Tree Style Tabs extension for a long while before vers. 137. When I heard about the new native vertical tabs I excitedly switched and removed TST, only to find out that native vertical tabs did not have trees. I redownloaded TST and it's working fine, but there's a small strip that houses nothing but the ability to turn on TST and access to sidebar settings. I don't use these actions much at all, so I'd rather that strip be optionally removed via. main settings or something. Attached is a picture of the sidebar I'm talking about with my tabs blurred. ... The new sidebar for tabs is great, but the bookmark bar sometimes shift it. In my case, i have the bookmark toolbar show up only on new tabs and not on others. So whenever i switch from a used tab to an empty tab, the bookmark bar pops up and pushes the tab icons on the sidebar down, which isnt a bug or problem i believe, but it is kind of weird to see. If the bookmark toolbar is shifted to the right, adjacent to the sidebar instead of on top of the sidebar, it might fix it. Currently the Firefox desktop Settings or the "about:preferences" page have certain settings categorized. I believe this should be removed and have all settings place on a single page. The issue is the extreme differences in the six categorizes present. "Sync" & "More from Mozilla" side-tab can easily fit into one page. Next in size is "Home" & "Search", while the last two largest side-tabs, "General" & "Privacy & Security", are no where near the previous two sizes. Lots of scrolling and searching can be reduced in categories that seem incorrect to the setting can be avoided if the option is given to let the user decide. ... View more

The new profiles are really great because they make it easy to manage multiple accounts on social media platforms and to separate all the passwords between private and work-related ones. However, the default settings like search engine, tools, etc., are unlikely to change much, as they are a matter of personal preference that will probably apply to all profiles. v136 introduced dynamically-expanding tab sizes on tabs with audio. This can be laggy though, as a page loads and the video/audio starts playing, causing misclicks. The tabs will also then shrink back down eventually once the audio's been idle for awhile, which can be visually distracting. There's some kind of thing that can be done with userchrome.css, but this is a workaround that's not viable for most users.
