With Extras --> Export you can export all your Thunderbird settings (accounts, addressbooks, mails) to a .zip file to backup it or to move it to another computer. The problem is: if your profile folder is greater than 2GB it is not recommended to do it this way. There is no way to only export all your account settings and passwords, but not all local stored mails. It would be great, if the user could choose via some checkboxes which data he wants to export, so you can deselect "mails" and only export account settings etc.   ... View more

Hi, In ThunderBird 115, as in ThunderBird 112, I have emails from eight accounts sorted and redistributed into five inboxes. When I receive messages with the "Get Messages" button, an account type is (presumably) never read (always the same provider). I have to go to the sub-choices menu at the top left and select only one account at a time. The problem that we thought solved in Firefox 115, is still there !!! Could "Get Messages" button be changed to have sub-choices, or could we have a new "Get Messages" button with sub choice ??? Thanks ... View more

In addition to the start and end date and time, I'd need to have check boxes for "Weekdays", and if checked then "Mon Tue ..." selectable, and also "Weekend", and if checked then "Sat Sun" selectable, for the "Edit Event" panel. First of all many thanks to all Thunderbird developpers! My idea: I regret the absence of a shortcut to show remote content for a selected message. To me, that would be useful since I disallowed remote contents by default. With a shortcut I could easily show remote contents for irregular senders which are not on my exceptions list. When TBird signs in, there's a series of messages that flash by on the bottom bar, documenting the progress or lack thereof as it searches for new messages. Unfortunately, those messages are all gone in less than a second on my gaming rig, so if I blink I've missed it. I would like to see them linger longer, perhaps up to a minute, so if I'm distracted I can check back and see what happened. Hi, currently, in a day box display in Thunderbird Calendar mostly only a day number is displayed. It would help a lot, if the full date were displayed for each day (day, month year). There is enough space in each box to place it in. Each time I display the Calendar I have to verify, if the correct weeks are displayed. It always takes some effort to do that.  This problem is sharpened by the fact that, when using a touchpad or a mouse wheel, minimal interaction can offset the calendar by months or even years. Hi, Often I am multitasking and I will put in an event to remind me of something, poorly, like "Call Chad", when I have about 7 Chads I am talking to. If I knew when that event was entered (or edited) in #Thunderbird, I would have a better chance of calling the right Chad. Or when I have multiple events, it would let me know which is the most recent one that was entered. It would also help me find the emails that correspond to the event since I probably made that event right after reading an email about it. At present, it appears that Chat notifications are either on for all channels, or off for all channels. There are some channels that I'd like notifications for every message, and other channels that I really don't need notifications. Thunderbird should always first try to import the pgp public keys from the signature before trying to use the key manager, wks, or the configured key server. Currently Thunderbird shows a missing key message even if the public key is already part of the signature. Also Thunderbird doesn't offer to import the key from the signature but instead has to import it from a different source. This is bad UX compared to the S/MIME workflow where Thunderbird (admittedly has to) use the public key from the message. Also in regards to privacy requiring this additional wks and key server lookup is not that great. At least if we consider the issue mentioned in the GnuPG documentation about using this as a way to fingerprint and identify users (in a very small amount of cases and in very specific scenarios, probably similar thread vector  and impact as CRL and OCSP validation with S/MIME certificates). Example gpg command to generate a test message: `gpg --sign --include-key-block --armor messagebody.txt` (and the feature requested in this ticket is basically identical to the gpg option `--auto-key-import`) From the gpg documentation: ``` --auto-key-import --no-auto-key-import This is an offline mechanism to get a missing key for signature verification and for later encryption to this key. If this option is enabled and a signature includes an embedded key, that key is used to verify the signature and on verification success the key is imported. The default is --no-auto-key-import. On the sender (signing) site the option --include-key-block needs to be used to put the public part of the signing key as “Key Block subpacket” into the signature. ``` ``` --include-key-block --no-include-key-block This option is used to embed the actual signing key into a data signature. The embedded key is stripped down to a single user id and includes only the signing subkey used to create the signature as well as as valid encryption subkeys. All other info is removed from the key to keep it and thus the signature small. When a filter has multiple "perform these actions" steps configured and the order in which they're about to be executed is different from the one they're shown in the GUI an additional note "Note: Filter actions will be run in a different order. See execution order" is shown. When someone clicks on the underlined text a new popup opens up showing the actual order in which these actions are performed. However there is currently no button to just sort the actions into exactly this order (and have that note thereby also go away). Furthermore it is also not possible to just drag and drop actions into this order. Currently the only option is to manually reconfigure all of the listed actions into this order which is a bit annoying. Therefore could we add an additional button either to that notification text or to the popup it opens to just have Thunderbird rearrange all of the filter actions into execution order? The "Real action order" popup already has an "OK" button, it would be desirable to add a 2nd button "Apply real action order" or a check box with "Sort filter actions by real execution order" and apply it on save. Code wise as we already have the real execution order anyway I don't see any big issues with having Thunderbird update the GUI to match it. Alternatively we could just have Thunderbird directly save the filters in execution order and thereby silently rearrange the performed actions once the "Filter Rules" window is closed and show the actual execution order once it is reopened. This is probably the best solution because that tiny note that Thunderbird is currently showing is easily missed anyway (and I also don't see a reason for not to). ... View more

Please add an option to disable notifications for new mails on a per folder notifications. I was not able to find a native way to disable notifications for certain mails that arrive in a specific folder (in this case after a filter moved them there, but I also did not find one for messages that the server would have moved there). Currently the only somewhat similar option is to not sync a folder at all. However this only works when the server is moving messages into that folder but not if a rule is moving them in there. Also it would mean that also the counter indicating how many unread messages are in a specific folder would not get updated anymore. Which is not what I want. An example use case would be if you're subscribed to a high volume mailing list (like e.g. the linux kernel mailing lists) and want to look into them, but not be notified for each and every single new message as they arrive. ... A great addition for 115 Supernova would be better formatting control when typing an email.  A big plus would be to add a format painter tool like the Microsoft programs provide.  Also instead of just providing enlarge and reduce arrows for font size, the ability to select a font size would be good too. ...
