Currently, I don't see the "X" button to close a tab when I hover over a tab. I don't see why I should have to select a tab in order to see the "X" button to close it. I also don't want to right click on a tab to get to the context menu to close a tab. I'm pretty savvy with keyboard shortcuts like Cmd+W and Option+Cmd+Left/Right, but if I can have another path to do what I want via trackpad/mouse I will take it.

WHY ON FREAKING EARTH HEAVEN AND HELL was this idea not yet implemented when it's an extremely easy thing to do and it was already implemented in the past and it's obvious that the way it is now sucks big time!!!???

You can middle-click tabs to close them

Thanks, @lackey !

That was certainly a nice trick I didn't knew.

Kind regards!

I right click the tab and select close from the menu.

The hovering mouse tab should display a close button

When there are too many tabs, the close button is gone, which is very inconvenient. At the very least, when hovering over the mouse, a close button should be displayed to make it more convenient to close unwanted tabs.
