New idea
Currently Firefox (117) has different search methods
- Search Site (Ctrl+F)
- Search ? (/)
- Search Links (')
- ... https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-contents-current-page-text-or-links
Suggestion:
To improve usability and tool discoverability by the user, all this shortcuts should open the same interface, but only preselect the type of search (SearchType) that should be performed.
- This way, the user would automatically knowing one of them, that other methods exist and by which shortcut they can be called.
- Only a single interface has to be designed, allowing for example the use of Letter case selection in combination with all search types ...
The interface could look like
[INPUT FIELD] [Selector:SearchType] [toggle:Letter case] [toggle:option2] ...
