Status: Exploring more

Although not an official part of the spec, and not the most useful function in the world, this method is fully supported by all modern browsers and I believe it would make sense for FF to have the same.

The same could be said about zoom ref. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/zoom

I personally think its a bad idea to follow non-standard features. Besides the warnings about difference sin implementations ... i think it only encouages webdevelopers to not check standard compliance and use whichever features  there current in use  browser supports, without any afterthought.

Both "scrollIntoViewIfNeeded" and "Zoom" are under our radar and we are actively investigating impact of both. In fact we are running a survey that should help us to prioritize those features (together with other platform features we know about are not supported in Firefox ).
