Currently it's not possible to edit the URL for saved passwords, and sometimes the URL for the saved login changes, and the old one becomes invalid meaning you would have to resave the same details for another URL.

If this can be considered that would be great.

Thanks @dsafda  for bringing this up. We have Bug 1324394 to track this work. Perhaps we should not only allow editing URLs in logins, but also allow multiple URLs per login. We are collecting opinions on that.

That's something that really annoys me. The fact that I need to save like 4 login details just to use Twitter.
One for the PC website, one for the mobile app, one for the API Twitter, and last but not least one for the mobile browser version (because some features are easier to tweak on a browser than on an app).

about:logins should loosen validation for URLs and allow editing of URLs. Just today Protonmail changed their URL from protonmail.ch to proton.me with 301 redirect(!) and there is no way for me to move credentials without copy pasting username/password.

I love the idea of multiple url's per entry. Not having it is the only thing stopping me from using firefox as my main password management. Especially for work, we have the same login credentials managed by sso for multiple sites. So if i change my password and we don't allow multiple URLs, lots of sites will all of a sudden have incorrect passwords. This makes things very inconvenient, and as such I use 1Password for password storage.

Making moves

The logins and passwords feature is still, after 20 years or so, not great.

Neither are bookmarks, which hit a peak back with delicious integration in Netscape Navigator 4.

The container feature doesn't work well with either of them at all.

One wonders if the board have shares in third party apps.

I am also suffering this issue of needing to copy/paste credentials because I cannot edit the URL.

If it is too hard to allow editing URLs, perhaps make it easier to create a new (duplicate) saved login with a new URL.

Please allow the editing of url's in password manager. Some web pages are no longer valid. When I go to the correct login webpage and login, I'll save the new information but Firefox 118.0.2 does not save the complete url and instead save the old url. Here's and example: this is the new login page "https://d.comenity.net/as/authorization.oauth2?deviceType=desktop&select=signin&response_type=code&c... however Firefox only saves "https://d.comenity.net/" and since we cannot manually update the url we cannot use the password manager. This has been an issue in Firefox forever and it is why I have and use Norton Password Manager as my backup but I shouldn't have to have two password managers to gain access to my websites.

I run into this issue from time to time where Firefox saves the "domain"  of the website, but the actual location needed for a login is in a "path."

As a result using the password manager doesn't allow a successful login.

Being able to add to the "path" portion of the URL would solve this.

This is a fairly basic feature. Websites change their login URL or URI all the time.
