If I press X (close) button and multiple tabs are opened, I have a warning. This is fine. But if there is only one tab, the window closes with no warning.

The problem is I have sometime many windows of various programs opened, stacked on each other, and it happens that, when I want to close a windows other than Firefox, I click on the Firefox close X button and I have to relog in everything I was logged in.

I would like a simple check box to confirm the closing of the Firefox window even if there is only one tab opened.

Many thanks!

I strongly support this feature request.

Accidental browser closure โ€” especially when hitting Alt+F4 or clicking the close window button โ€” can result in losing important tabs or interrupted workflows. While Firefox restores sessions quite well, there are moments (e.g. private browsing or unsaved form data) when thatโ€™s not enough.

An optional confirmation dialog (similar to the beforeunload event in web pages) would be a very helpful UX feature โ€” especially for users who often have many tabs open or use Firefox in a kiosk-like or productivity-focused setup.

Ideally, this could be toggled in Settings, e.g.:
"Ask for confirmation before closing Firefox"
โ€ฆand maybe even configurable based on tab count or session type.

This would not only prevent frustration but also show that Firefox cares about protecting the userโ€™s session from human error. ๐Ÿ‘
