Browser contained extensions

I believe extensions (not addons) would be nice to have, like the ability to add PDF editing functionality directly to the browser after downloading it or maybe image editing functionality, web-design functionality (not like firefox dev but more like squarespace) all the way to like normal desktop applications directly in the browser possibly in a way that leverages the browser's already integrated functionalities and saves space while doing so, i believe they should also be fully seperate from add-ons and have their own page and etc.
