Please allow Firefox for Android users to disable browsing history immediately, rather than only when tapping “Exit.”

In Russia, people have started getting fined for visiting “wrong” or opposition websites. Police sometimes check browser history directly on users' phones. Many of us, myself included, are used to keeping Firefox open after browsing and do not tap “Exit.”

Private browsing mode isn’t a practical alternative for many users either, since it requires logging into sites like YouTube every time, which is inconvenient.

Please support our effort to resist an increasingly authoritarian regime by giving us better privacy tools. Thank you!

I can understand the situation where cookies are needed, but history is not. Private Mode doesn't solve this problem. However I advice you to enable Deletion of history on exit, and do exit. Not exiting is obviously your negligence. Especially in such social situations.

How do you simply disable history while using the browser on Android? Yes, I know I can exit and delete history that way. That's not what is needed since I'm not exiting the browser. I don't want it saved at all. I don't want to exit and lose pages I'm using. Seems like a no-brainer option to have.
