The new AI sidebar in Firefox is an exciting step toward smarter browser assistance. I’d love to see support for integrating custom AI tools or user-defined features, such as:

  • Connecting personal AI tools or APIs (locally hosted or cloud-based),

  • Creating custom sections or shortcuts, like a personal recipe database, a to-do list, or a notes panel powered by AI,

  • The ability to define and switch between multiple AI instances, each with its own purpose (e.g., "Coding Assistant", "Travel Planner", "Journal Chat", etc.).

This would greatly enhance the sidebar for many users—both for personal productivity and professional workflows. Especially for those who use their own automations or open-source AI tools, Firefox could become an even more adaptable and powerful tool.

Additional Suggestion:
A small API or plugin system for developers to create their own sidebar features or tabs would be a huge bonus.
