Adding PDF comment clutters screen with "Highlight color" palette

Adding a PDF comment turns on the "Highlight color" palette. This covers up a chunk of the screen. I'd prefer if the highlight color were left at a default setting that could be changed by clicking. If someone wanted to keep the palette up in order to more quickly change colors between successive comments, clicking it could leave the palette up across successive comments (but clicking it again would leave it off across comments).
