Translation fron english to french, often we don't understand anything

Translations are often very imprecise, even incomprehensible in Facebook articles for example, this one:

I want to travel from uk across Europe for a 10/11 day adventure next year interrailing with my daughter. Any suggestions on an itinerary . Would love to include Berlin maybe places in Slovenia , Slovakia , Switzerland, Austria , Italy but realise won’t be able to do it all in such a short time. Was thinking we could get a few night sleepers along the way to save on hotels esp if some journeys not that interesting or very long.
Would love some expert advice . I’m 58 and my daughter is 23

J'aimerais avoir des conseils d'expert. J'ai 58 ans et ma fille 23 ans.

I would like to know which client to use you to make these machine translations because often we do not understand anything about the text, or is it that the machine translations are not yet in the point.

I’ve noticed the same thing, especially with Facebook articles and travel posts like the one you shared. Sometimes the machine translations are so imprecise that it’s hard to even understand what the person is asking. In this example, you can kind of guess that she’s planning an interrail trip across Europe with her daughter, but the phrasing feels awkward and unclear. I also wonder whether this is an issue with the specific client/platform being used for translation, or if the built-in machine translation tools just aren’t advanced enough yet for more natural, fluent results.

I have the same question as you: which translation client or service is actually being used behind the scenes? It would be helpful to know whether the problem comes from the algorithm itself or from how the platform integrates it. I’ve seen this happen frequently with travel-related content too, especially posts about religious trips or transport services like vip umrah taxi, where precise wording really matters for dates, pickup points, and package details. You can check the URL as well. I’ve seen this happen a lot with travel-related content too, especially posts about religious trips or transport services like vip umrah taxi. Sometimes professional tools like DeepL or more advanced AI-based translators produce much better results, so I’m curious whether Facebook is just using a more basic system. I’d really like to understand this better too, because poor translations can completely change the meaning of a text.
